Hi girls, I’m a week post op today… I stopped the anti biotics and Ibuprofen a couple of days ago and stopped the codeine days ago as made me feel so spaced out. I’m taking paracetamol only but not sure how long I can continue with this? X

It is down to you as an individual honey, they are are no set rules, apart from the antibiotics, and it is very important that you complete the course,if you feel that you can manage any pain that you experience without taking the painkillers then it is your choice, however if you are worried contact your nurse and ask her advise, xxx

i stopped all pain killers on day 3, i didnt need them, im not one for taking pain killers often, so i actually only took one, maybe two max of the codeine a day, but i kept the antibiotics for the full week xx

stopped mine after 3 days, as serious bloating and just the odd paracetamol, but have been pain free about 3 days now, am 9 days post op.- how time flys. mega itchy at the mo- good sign. went out driving yesterday, ironing and back to normal. still concious about over stretching and picking anything too heavy, as only have steri-strips and cant help thinking that they are going to slip out, like my chicken fillets used to. haha

Hey hun, as Tina says it depends on the individual. I stopped taking mine every 4 hours on about day 4 and just took them in morning and before bed. Stopped completely on day 6 and felt a bit moody for a day or so , think i’d got addicted! Just listen to your body. xxx

After leaving the hospital I didn’t take any painkillers just took my antibiotics. If you feel in pain then you should carry on taking them or maybe try cut down. If your having no pain try and go without x
