how long do implants last ? Started by: lindsey

    I had my op done in October last year and my pc told me they will last forever on consultation I think that’s a load of rubbish tbh has anyone been told different or does anyone know when they need replacing or taking out? Thanks xxx

    Does anyone know how we can look after them? ? I got told to get them changed after 10-15 years

    I always thought that implants lasted around 10 years, however I guess things have changed as Dr Mounir said the Mentor implants last 15-20 years. I think when they say look after them they mean support them the best you can, so having the best bras and maybe even wearing sports bras to bed. x

    If you research the Internet on mentor implants you will find a lot of information. They are not guaranteed to last a lifetime and you should expect to have them changed at some point in your life: that can be 10, 15 or 20 years. There’s no set amount of time, it all depends on your body and how they’ll look in time.

    My surgeon said they are good for a lifetime but you may want to change them for size or come for an uplift down the line. Shouldn’t be any need to change them if you support them correctly.
