How long from Consult to surery?

Hi,

I have my first consultation with MYA on Saturday and am really excited. I am hoping to get surgery asap and was wondering how long the consultation process usually takes.

Aya, ive been in the same position and wanted it done asap and luckily it has come around quite quick 4me, to my pleasure . I had my first consultation on the 4th of Sept, then saw Mr Adamo on the 9th and was booked in for the 29th!(In 3 days, really excited!) I was even offered to have it done on the 22nd, but it got in the way something else i had to attend otherwise i would have done it then….So its quite possible to do it in the same month, I have been quite lucki in getting the ball rolling rather quick and fingers crossed my luck continues that way. Is this your consultation with your patient co-ordinator?? You can set a date as soon as you have your appointment with your surgeon and pay your deposit. They do give you a cooling down period but it is a very quick turn around. I am booked in for the 30th October at Highgate and I tried to move my date (earlier) but they were fully booked. x

hya i paid on the same day of my first consultation with my pc which was the 10th sept and im having my op on the 1st oct so not even a month x

thanks, yeah it was my first appt so can’t see surgeon now until 6th October, feels like ages away

Yea! Now just 1day to go, Just thinking this time tomorrow ill have finished from work for 2weeks and will be returning bloomed you will love the feeling hehe xxx

i am soo jealous i am desperate to get booked in now, just wanting to see surgeon asap. Did you go with MYA? I am finding it difficult to decide on a company x

Yep im with MYA, they have been great with me all the way through didnt even look elsewhere, as i felt well looked after with them. My pc helped me a lot, getting me in quick, helping my finance and working around my best interests couldn’t be more pleased really, keep it coming for the op eh! lol. who have you looked into? x

looked into MYA, Transform and Hospital Group. Really unsure who is best but MYA seems to come highly recommended.

I need to see if I can get finance first, did you go through First Medical? x

Ye MYAs best bet from me, i applied through First Medical, but didnt do well with them, but my pc helped me out straight away(she knew id be panicking lol) and arranged a loan with MYA for me putting about £2500 down then paying the rest in 4 3month standing orders, nice and easy x

thats brill, i didn’t know MYA done their own finance. I will need to apply to Firt Medical and ee what happens, need about £1500 from them lol.

If not I will have to save hard and wait longer x

hi pauline,u dont have to wait to see the surgeon b4 bookin your time slot.i payed my deposit on my first visit to my pa,then booked my time slot while i was there.i didnt actualy meet my surgeon until the week before surgery. X x

p.s. Dnt forget u can use your 500quid off voucher as wel x

Yeah I have the voucher so that will be £3350 I need to pay in total. Just worried about booking surgery and not getting money in time lol xx

Lol i was in the same position but my pc helped me loads, prices, times and all, kept my spirits up. Im sure they will try their best 4ya too Lotsa luck xx

Ah im sorry to hear that ticky, what problems have you had? Who was your PC? Sam is my PC think she is the clinic manager though, so that must be a plus! she called me today to wish me all the best for tomorrow, finally a matter of hours now xx
