Hey girls,
I’m booked in for 7th April and I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it will be before I am able to pick up my 10 month old baby girl after my op? (I think i’m having unders if that makes any difference).
Thanks Becky x x x
Hi there, my son was 10 months last sept when id jst had my ba and uplift!! i started picking him up about 2-3 weeks after my op!! me and my partner stayed at my mums for the first 10 days, as he was at work, so my mum comletely took over, even changing my sons nappy was a problem, so she took over and i rested infront of the tv!!
Was good as the rest made me heal really quickly, but then i started to lift my son again! X
Hey, Thanks hun. I hope I heal really quickly as I have 3 kids, a 3yr old a 2yr old and my 10 month old and my partner is only able to have a few days off work!! Bit worried i’m going burst my stiches or something. Think i’ll go and book them all into nursery for a week!! I’m glad you had an understanding mummy!! I hope your all healed and your still loving your new boobys. Thanks again x x x
Hi am in same position my op is on Wednesday and my husband off that day but back to work the following Tuesday and I have 4 yr old, 3 yr old and 6 month old !!!! Plus I’ll have the school run to do also – mind you suppose could keep them off the day he goes back to work as they break up that day. Really hope I’ll be able to deal with my baby okay..xx
I know, can we really not drive for a whole week!? I’m going to go insane not being able to pick my babys up. Where you going? Are you having overs or unders? Whos your surgeon? I bet your so excited now. I’m sure we’ll be fine were just typical mummys and stress, stress, stress….. x x x
I dnt have any children so not sure on that but I had unders and took me 9days before I could drive, even though I had no pain and very good recovery I couldn’t change gears or do big turns if that makes sense!xxx
9 days!!! Makes perfect sense though, thanks hun, I’m glad you had a very good recovery and hope you are pleased with them. I’m sure it’s well worth not pushing yourself too early x x x
Yeh you will notice is u push yourself to hard!but everyones different, its best to keep moving but listen to your body and if it hurts then stop!xx
Thanks for the advice, is really good to talk to people that have experience in how you will feel. It’s so exciting but then also so worrying about how you will cope after. Did you have overs or unders? x x

Rach 83 – Will definitely let you know how I get on. Last time I had mine done my eldest son who is now 9 was only 1 1/2 and I had week off work. Stayed at mums for 3 days but then went back home and was driving within a week.
BECKY – Hiya – I’m having unders and my surgeon is Gary Traynor. It’s horrible not being able to pick up my baby but Gary Traynor said to me I should be okay to hold him on my knees within day or two and lifting out of his crib just no swinging him over my head LOL !! xx
Hey girlys,
rach83 yeah of course I will, e-mail me your e-mail and i’ll keep you updated beckylamb@hotmail.co.uk not long to go now! x x
kate 1977 I think i’m having unders too and apparently this is more uncomfortable than overs so nice to know that Traynor thinks we will be able to hold our babys after a couple of days. Thanks you have put my mind at ease. Please let me know how you get on and good luck foe Wed hun x x x
I also have a 10 month old and the thought of not holding her…. My husband can only get the day of my op and the day after off. I have no family to help me either. So hope the surgeon is right after a few days i can hold her. Does anyone know if it makes any difference having overs to unders? xxx
RachJayGrace : Unders are a bit longer recovery time and more painful than overs. I had unders my first time round but as long as you keep you medication topped up you should be okay hun just try not to overdo things – leave housework and things like that. After a week I was back at work and driving. This time am having unders again but have 3 more children under 4 so is gonna be hard LOL Regarding our babies we will just have to make do with little cuddles off them on our laps 🙁 but as long as they are fed and we are there for them to see am thinking they will be okay?!?!
Becky : Thanks for the good luck – you too and let me know how you get on too hun xx
