How long until you can use a sunbed or go in the sun?

Did you all wait a certain amount of time? Or is it ok as long as you cover up the scars? My PC said a year to be safe but did say girls don’t often wait that long.

Am hoping to go away in the new year which will be at least 3 months post op x
