Well I’m getting some last minute nerves and was just wondering how many procedures it is normal/safe for a surgeon to do in one day? I know about 5 or 6 other girls who are in on the same day as me with the same surgeon for a ba, is this normal?? I can be a worrier but just keep thinking what if I’m last and he is really tired? I’m more nervous I think cos this is a re op and I know that since Mr Russo has been suspended MYA have obviously been trying to fit his patients in elsewhere. Just having last minute worry :-/ xx

Yes that’s normal. I was worried too when I head Mr. Kazzazi had 6 patients that day, but he was fresh as a daisy when he saw me, and this is normal for most of the surgeons x

Hey, I’m not 100% sure on what is classified as ‘normal’ but when I was with one of the scrub nurses waiting to go into theatre I asked him how many they normally do in a day and he said it can vary; on the day I had my op there were 15 BA’s.

Seriously don’t stress about it, these surgeons have done this literally hundreds of times for many years, plus private hospitals are terrified of being sued so I very much doubt they would pack in loads of procedures if they didn’t think the surgeons could cope…Relax! :)

PS I had no idea Russo was suspended, do you know why? x

I don’t know. My feeling from that forum is that MYA surgeons in general do several ops a day but those girls on the same day might be with different surgeons? I am sure they planned it all out well. Don’t worry too much or ring them in advance to make sure you get an early admission time.

My surgeon doesn’t do that many which I loved. She does one BA, one nose and one eyelid, labia or whatever a day. Plus botox and consultations and aftercare. You have all appointments with her also and not only a PC or nurse.

I don’t think you can base it on how many a day, every single BA will be different some may take more time than others,MYA would not put you at risk, some of the surgeons will have opened up extra dates to operate to accommodate MYA,so in all fairness they may be operating on a day they normally would’nt do,hence Mya been able to fit everyone in,this is what I am assuming I could be wrong, but no big company would put you or your surgery at risk, try to relax and look forward.Besides all doctors are used to working very long hours, they are all very skilled.

Thanks ladies! The rational me is saying stop being such an idiot, they are skilled and experienced surgeons and Mya wouldn’t do anything that wasn’t safe, so stop being a plonker!! Lol. Just a few last minute butterflies me thinks. I’ll have a word with myself haha xx

I asked my pc this the other day cz im getting nervous too!! she said that they work a 10 hour day and that there were 7 with my surgeon on my day (this Sat EEP!!). So i take up 3 hours of that and then the other girls were all BA’s so 45mins each with a nice little breather for Mr Falladhar in between :) She said its absolutely completely normal. Theres a couple of girls on here on same day as me in Highgate but different surgeons. Its a busy business is this!! xxxxxxxx

Yeah I think it’s cos I’m an overnight case too so will be later in the day. We will all be fine :-) xx

There was a complaint made about him and the GMC found it so serious they suspended him while they investigate. MYA doesn’t want any topics about him because neither he or the lady who complained are here to defend themselves x

Or they dont want any discussion of it in the forum as they fear it will look bad on them! I think that’s more likely as they remove negative forum posts once a person’s complaint is being reviewed to avoid people learning about what happens when things go wrong. Take that from somebody who knows that from experience!

When I had my op I had to wait several hours before surgery, and then the same thing again for my revision. The second time I wasn’t out of surgery until gone 7pm. Unfortunately it is a bit of a conveyer belt. Personally I think smaller independent clinics would offer a better service if you’re wanting individual service and attention to detail.

I think it varies. When I was in last time there was two other girl. One with my surgeon and the other with a different surgeon. The first time though. There was a lot more girls. I ended up waiting ages.

In the lead up to op day we all get irrational fears and worries and no matter how logically you look at things you can’t help but worry as its such a huge thing. I was under the impression that this forum was a sisterhood of support where ‘no question is a silly question’. If something bothers you and somebody else’s answer helps you to relax, surely that’s a good thing? Yes they are ridiculously highly skilled and trained and studied and practiced for years and years, but they are also human and capable of feeling tiredness. Although its unbelievably unlikely that your surgeons mind is on anything else but your surgery at the time, you can’t help but worry the YOU will be the one that it goes wrong on. or YOU will be the one that doesn’t wake up after…etc. It’s natural when your emotions are so high, and the fact that more than a few ppl have asked this question shows that, in fact, it isn’t a stupid question at all. I asked as I wanted to work out roughly what time my op would be and was quite surprised at how many ops were on one day! Not because of the surgeon getting tired, but just imagine how many BAs go on every week! There are so many of us doing this for ourselves to get confidence, and that’s why it’s good to ask people who are/were/are going to be in the same boat as us.

Serious… Newbie?! The post from the other day which you started was about people not being happy with their result. Guess what… It happens. If your happy then woohoo. Good for you!! Other people aren’t. And these people have every right to voice their concerns. If you don’t like what the topic is about then don’t comment. You absolute knobber!!

Just want to say thank you for the support ladies, it’s just a bit of a nerve wracking time as this is a re op for me so things obviously didn’t go exactly to plan the first time. I am not blaming my surgeon for this in any way as these things happen, its just made me slightly more nervous this time. For the most part I am very excited and can’t wait, I just have the occasional attack of butterflies. This time next week it will all be done and I will have a great pair of boobies I’m sure :-) xx

You might want to check your grammar as well as your spelling.

Would you rather keep their worries and concerns to themselves? Is it not best to ask and have those worries taken away? If you don’t want to help then don’t comment. You just make yourself look like a complete moron. It’s a surgery forum, the question is surgery related. What’s your problem? Chavtastic… Haha. What kind of word is that?!

    Menu

same kind of word as ‘knobber’ mini, ask around your council estate they’ll know…

    yes great shame julie41

I think you maybe missed a few of the points I made in the post. No, its not a great thing to get worked up about your surgeons sleeping pattern before op day, I agree. Thats why this topic thread was started! It was started by a girl worrying about something, and then all the posts after are girls reassuring her that everything will be fine and offering her support.

Until your post, this thread was really helpful.

Go back and re-read my reply. Slowly. If you get stuck on any words just sound each letter out loud, or ask somebody to help you.

Also, I’ve heard evening primrose oil is really good for PMT.

Amy I had exactly the same worries. When I realised Mr T seemed to be taking on most of Mario’s I thought shit what if they try’n ram us all in and he is rushing. My main worry was what if he stitches me up too quickly and my scars are wonky!

I went for my 1 week check up today and nurse said they are really neat :-)

Try not to worry, there is probably some law which says they can’t operate over a certain amount each day

Vroobles – get lost!!! No question on here is stupid and if you’ve got nothing nice to say then zip it! You’re a nasty piece of work from your comments I’ve read so far on here!
