how much help is needed?

hey ladies
iv noticed from reading through the forums that most of you have boyfriends/husbands or someone there to help you through the first few weeks and i was wondering how much help is actually needed? although my mum will be around for the first few days, im then moving back to my uni house where although my housemates have offered to help lots, they wont be around 24/7 as they have lectures/jobs to go to. im a bit worried i might get stuck in bed alone with no1 there to help me! so just wondering how much im actually going to be able to do by myself and what definitly needs help with?

Heya I had mine done wednesday and im rly strugglin! My hubbyz bk 2wrk 2day n ma sons at his nanas n im stuk on the couch. I cnt get maself dressed, cnt sit up on my own, cnt get a cup dwn frm the cubard, find it hard 2open doorz ohhh the list goes on. Defo need people 2help u! I had underz tho, n its more painful with underz! X

In my experience the first 5 days r the hardest. lIke reaching for things getting dressed etc. But after that i found each day i could do more and more. By 12 days post op i was doing everything normally. Although im not lifting apart from my 3 yr old when needed which doesnt hurt. But every1 is different i think after reading some of the ladies stories on this forum have had an extremely good recovery. Good luck with ur ba xx

hey, i had mine done on a friday, my hubby helped me for the weekend and was back at work the monday and i was fine. could dress myself and everything. i had to look after my little boy as he had his tonsils out 3 days after my op and i was fine hon. i had unders

hi i had my ba fri 18th my mum stayed with me sat night .i can manage to get dressed get out of bed .my mum has left everything at easy reach for me like plates cups any food on work tops .shes prepared my meals for today in fridge so just pop in microwave .i can even wash up but just leave to dry.she ll be back round tomorrow to help again bless her.i had unders so feel really heavy and sore but my nipples are numb cant feel them.just hope the next few days get easier not over doing anything just taking my time.good luck with your ba hope its a better story than mine ive posted it on here and sofem .take carex

Hey hun I had mine done last sunday and I can honestly say after the first day I was fine, back to my normal self and doin everythin normally. I went back to work last wednesday (3 days post op) and I haven’t struggled once. I had unders tooXx

Hope mine goes as well as yours butterfly, going in tomorrow!!and have lots of travelling to do over next week and obviously want to be feeling ok over xmas!!!xx

hi butterfly cant believe you were back at work after unders i dont go back till 11th jan cos ive got a manual job in a factory.im only 2 days post op today they feel really swollen didnt look that big when woke up from op.only thing now is about 20 mins after taking my tablets they really knock me out for about an hour nodding off twice today 1st time 8 this morning then12.30 ish did anyone else feel like that?i also had unders cant even think about work after 2 days your lucky x

i dont really think you need loads help!! i was fine!! i did everything myself!! my mum helped me put my top on, but you start to get used to it! its not as painful as you think. well i didnt think it was, maybe its cos iv been through childbirth twice, so no pain can compare ha ha! X

I agree its defs not painful at all. My prob was that I didn’t tell anyone about the op so I had to pretend everythin was normal and carry on like nothin was diff. Maybe that made a difference to how I recovered? its jus sleepin upright that annoys me but after tuesday I should be okay to lie flat. I can’t wait.xx
