How tight should bra be

Hi ladies I’ve just brought a sports bra I measured my self using a couple of sites n came out 36DD/36E so I went to mark n got a high impact sports bra zip up front, I tryed them both n got the 36E but it does feel quite tight n uncomfortable now ive worn it all day, I no they are meant to be snug but how do I no if it’s the right size, I didn’t want to get measured coz had kids with me n I’m going to wen I’m 6 weeks, I’m currently 3wks post op had 450 mod plus x
