Hello all,
I am looking for some advice or stories from others who have or have not yet had their BA. I am looking at early December for mine and i have been padding up my bras a bit so not to shock anyone after my surgery. I work with mainly men and some are a bit nervous talking to me as it is. Does anyone have any secret tricks to share or any funny stories. This part of the process i think bothers me the most as I really like everyone that i work with and I dont’ want to make things wierd. Also, there are only 5 other women that i work with. Out of respect Should i tell them before hand?
i’m in the same position. i work in an office with mostly men. i’ve told one of the women that i work with and she is so excited. i’ve told my boss when i applied for the time off and he didnt really say anything (he is a man of few words amyway though) i dont know what to do about the rest of the staff
xx
its no ones biz but your own,if they ask and you feel ok telling them then do,never feel like you have to explain yourself hunni,i used to drive coaches and was surrounded by men all the time so i felt a bit ganged up on at times lol just be confident and youll be fine (own it! and work it!) xxx
Hi, i didnt tell anyone at work as i thought it was my business and no one elses and after about 3 days one girl came up to me and asked quietly if i had and i told her. i just said it was not a big secret i just thought it was personal and she totally agreed. i have had loads of people ask me since as i work in quite a big company but can honestly say its all positive with alot of people saying they have always wanted to do it but bever had the gutts! and a couple of close work mates asking to cop a feel! i think its really up to you and how you feel but good luck whatever you do! xx
Thanks Emma:) also im so proud of the body i hated for years and the fact i have had the gutts to do something about it and its changed my life that any negative comments would get a very short answer and i would probably put it down to jealously that a few small minded people may have but stuff em its your life! xx
I work with about 50 people (not all at the same time! Lol!) mixture of blokes and women, I started wearing bigger bras so people didn’t notice. Then one day I was so fed up with feeling uncomfortable and hot and sticky (from my chicken fillets!) I thought f**k it I’m gona wear small bras because I want everyone to notice!! Lmao! People had comments but they were more just saying how brave I was to go through with it, afterwards they asked if I was happy with the results. Any negative ones are people being jealous! So if you feel confident and excited enough to talk about it go ahead, if people have issues with it it’s their problem xx
well ive told everyone men or women lol it was my birthday on the weekend and i even had cards with big boobies on lol xx
Thanks everyone. This forum is such a big help.
I am only going to tell my manager, when I ask for the time off – I am going to say that I am having surgery and need a week off for recovery, if he asks I will tell him what it is, but ask if he would mind not telling everyone as I work with mainly men and the only woman on my floor already hates me (no idea why, she hasn’t ever spoken to me since I’ve been here in November!)
As the op is in January and I am a cold person, I will be wearing jumpers and body warmers and by the time they come off in May people will probably forget what size I was in the first place ha!!
Hi Hun, I’m in a very similar situation, but I don’t work with any girls just 6 guys
I haven’t told them and not going too!
I have brought some big padded bra’s from M&S, I’m hoping to have it done over Xmas holidays so when I come back hoping know one will really notice, It does worry me tho, and my boyfriend isn’t sure I’ll get away with it but I can only try lol xxx
I work with 5 women and 1 man. I didn’t tell them because it’s none of their business. I didn’t think they’d notice because the macom pushes them flat and I wore a baggy top. I thought I just looked like I’d put on weight, but as soon as I got there, one lady went running into the other office saying “she’s got boobs”. Then everyone decided they needed to use the photocopier by my desk.
They’ve been really annoying. I’d rather they just asked me out right or talked about me behind my back so I couldn’t hear them at all, but they’re talking loud enough for me to hear and they know it.
One person didn’t notice at all but when they all came back from lunch she kept staring at my chest and grinning at me.
They’ve even told people outside the department that I don’t usually see.
And one of them put their hand across my back to see if I was wearing a bra.
xx
omg belle what twats they all sound!!! ive only told the girl i work on reception with not telling any-one else its non of their business if they ask then il say yeah i hve but not going out of my way to tell ppl at work cause i dnt rli care for their opinions lol plus we have about 5 women and about 30 men so not very good! x
Seriously, it’s so annoying. They’re all a lot older than me so I thought they’d be more mature about it x
Belle, they sounds like total idiots!! I haven’t told anyone at work either so when I go back I’m sure I will get some flack too (I work in a GP practice, so they will all have lots of opinions about my ba!)
Perhaps if they keep staring offer them the number for MYA and say they too could have a body like yours lol. Keep your chin up babe, you done it for you and if they are staring it’s because they are jealous!! Be proud of your assets and keep your head held high, most women have considered surgery but never been brave enough to do it. I talked myself out of doing it for years!
