i have capsular contacture!! :'(

hi girls im 6 months post op my right boob as neva settled, so mr K wanted to see me at 6 months, an yest he ses this is wat we call capsular contracture, im absolute gutted! i have no pain tho so i dont get it??? if its not settled in 3 more months i have to have a re-op, is there any 1 out there that can put my mind at ease? i got some vitimin E tabs from holland and barret yest, so hopefully that will help cos the vitimin E cream is doin nothin for mi xx 😥

so what will they do if you have to have a re op will they take it out and replace it at te same time? or will they leave you for a little while to recover?

im not too sure about it i have to see him in 3 months but iv been readin up on it an they av to remove all scar tissue n it looks horrible, i neva thought if they leave mi wi no implant for a while, i hope they dont, that wud be the worst thing if they did x

the vitimin E tabs helps the scar tissue (i think) thats why they tell u to massage after wi E cream, but i dint dare massage after 6 weeks incase i did it rong, i wanted to leave em to settle on their own, BIG MISTAKE, lol xx

They would Hun they have to let the boob heal before they can put it bak in this could take up to 6 month depending on healing time my friend had the same thing in January she had her boob put bak in on the 8 th of April they do give u the implant to put in ya bra not the best but u can’t tell in clothes try not to stress Hun XX

vicki theres a girl called maxine who had cc on here she never had the implant taken out an left out, she just had it all done in the same day, old one taken out and new one put back in xx

Every case is different!

But if it was so bad I think he would of had u straight in – I doubt very much they will leave u without An implant (that’s only extreme cases) if he leaving u 3 months yours can’t b extreme!

I think people should try not stress u out!! Every case is different !

I’m sure u will b fine in ur summer tops!

Phone ur nurse with any concerns – this site can sometimes do more harm than good in serious situations…

vicky, there’s always ways and like kirsties said if mr k leaving u another 3months for it to settle then it cant be so serious. mr k is also known for reconstructive surgeries and people cant praise him enuf, so you’ll be in good hands. (he’s done my ba 5days ago). ull be fine girl. xx

thanks girls, dunno if its mi imagination but since yest wen i started takin E tabs it seems to got a lil bit softa n mi partner recons so aswel but we touch them everyday so not too sure if were imaginin it lol, an no kirsties its neva settled from day 1, its really high and hard but no pain, i fink i got gud chance ov settlin it by massagin otherwise like ya say he wud av got mi in straight away, but it wud just be my luck for it to get worse lol, fingers crossed it dont lol x

Did Mr K reccommend taking vit e tabs? I had Mr K for uplift/implants 7wks ago and my left isnt settling, me and hubby can feel what feels like scar tissue along outside edge, i dont get to see Mr K for another 5wks but was wondering about vit e tabs. xx

no he dint mention vitimin E tabs but my nurse recomended vitimin E cream 6 weeks afta op, n wen i read up about CC wen i suspected it, they kept been mensioned, an worked wonders for ppl wi first signs ov CC, but wen i mensioned the vits to mr k he sed i cud try em they mite work, but wateva i do DONT take antibiotics. the vits are ment to soften scar tissue, wether its true or not il let ya no x

Hi luv realy sorry to hear about your CC,

I had to av my right boob removed on 18 Oct 10 just 6 days post opp due to bad infection. I was left with 1 boob from then, all over xmas until i had reop on both on 8 March 11. so am 3 weeks post op now and alls well but I would strongly recomend you av both removed if its needed cos mine now r 1 soft, n 1 firm and slighty higher than the other cos the left went back into the pocket that was already there wereas the right had heald up and needed to start from scratch again. Also it will be easier for u 2 pad out your bras until the reop. Dont worry about it if theres no infection you will heal realy quickly, just think about the end result went its all redone. I also asked for a bigger size putting back in cos 1st time i wasnt happy with size. I had 410 1st then 525 2nd and well suited with them now so it worked out better for me in the end. try to stay possitive, talk about it dont bottle ya feelings up about it. wish you all the best luv, x x

I’m the Maxine that was mentioned earlier! lol

CC can occur from 6 months to years down the line! i got mine at around 3 and 1/2 years after the op! You have to massage them twice daily with bio oil to help avoid it! I am only 4 weeks post op and have been massaging for the last 2 weeks as my surgeon said.

If you et it once you can get it again.

Mine wasn’t hard or painfull but my boob was a weird shape and moving towards my armpit.

Capsular Contraction is when the scar tissue pocket around the implant contracts, hardens and thickens. This pocket and the implant need to be removed and then the implant can be replaced straight away unless there are other complications.

I had a massive amount of scar tissue due to never massaging!!

MORAL OF THE STORY IS MASSAGE EVERYDAY……FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!

BOOB JOBS ARE A LIFE LONG COMMITMENT!!! LOOK AFTER THEM LADIES!!

P.S. Massaging breaks down scar tissue and keeps the implant pocket soft. Think of it as a knotted muscle in your shoulder….if you never massage it it will tighten and tighten till you are in pain and your shoulder looks out of place. oh and the knot will get bigger!

Massage your back/shoulders regularly and you will not only rid the knots but the muscle will remain soft and supple!
