i met Dr Gonschoir , looks like i may be having open rhino

..so ive been wanted a nose job for a long time now ive been to a few cosmetic consultation & all i can say is MYA london is the best so far, i went to harley medical group surgery but found the clinic nurse to be very rude & quote eager in trying to book me in to see the cosmetic surgon ( at a cost of £100) which i refused!…..

The clinic manager at mya was really lovely & told me about Dr Stefan Gonschior & if i wanted to have a consultation, i did no feel forced at all, & was so happy with the way i was treated here…

(where as at harley medical group they still keep sennding me junk mail along with countless calls to my mobile, thankfully they dont have my line rental number)

so anyway i booked my consultation with the doctor & went to meet him, he was great, he anwsered my coutless questions & had alot of time for me considering thier was a big quee outside to see him, he did not even rush me at all, which was nice as i felt he wanted to ensure i had anwsers for all my what if questions

it looks like i will be having an open rhinoplasty, i am really scared about the scarring & wonder if anyone would share thier experiece with me would love to see some before and after pics

hey i had him and i had open i got my cast off yday! it was the best experience ever for me! i went to fizroy hospital they treated me really well everyone was nice to me! the recovery was fine although it wernt as easy for me as i was sick with the bug lol but it was fine! sleeping gets abit uncomfortable but you get used to it! my bruising wasnt bad bad but it depends how badly you bruise?

the cast gets itchy and theres alot of pressure some times but nothing you cant deal with! its just like having a cold

but dr g is amazing you should see all the girls noses hes done on here there amazing! xx

Hi, i had an open septorhinoplastery 6 days ago at the highgate hospital! i had a big bump on my nose, it was rearing to the left and then looked a little bolbous at the tip….it took me some years to notice the other problems over the bump but Dr G noted everything in about 30 seconds. i wasnt sure what i wanted except that i wanted the bump gone and the nose to be straight, after that i just wanted it to suit my face but i didnt know exactly what i wanted…..i gave my trust to him.

Highgate hospital were extremely friendly, i was petrified of going under and the nurse was holding my hand, trying to make me laugh, wiping my tears and stroking my head, next minute [3 hours later] i hear my name and im waking up and the surgery is over.

In relation to scars and bruising, it came on my 2nd day but its now my 6th and the bruising and swelling has gone. there will be a little scar where my stitches are but that will fade after a few days as well so dont worry about that…..il get photos up once everythings off! Goodluck!!! x

rinaule♥ what about scarring is it very clear? im real scared about this, after surgery can you see the big difference in change of nose shape,(i met a girl who had closed rhino when i was on my way to my consultation she showed me her before pic and after which was amazzing, i thought would be getting closed rhino too, but dr reccommened open xx

thank you so much busybee! its so weird lol! iv been so lucky i had abit of my nostrils cut out as well so i got 3 scars but you cant see them atall. theyv healed so well you need to proper look closely to even see the line! il upload more photos later on! but seriously dont worry about scarring its n othing xxx

the sides of my nostrils were brought in btw thats why he cut bits out xx

Hiya, I’m 5 days post op from closed rhinoplasty and I highly Recommend him and MYA. I too went to a number of companies (6 in total) including Harley medical who were just after my money. They also wanted me to have the surgery done by general plastic surgeons. Dr G specialises in facial reconstruction so he knows what he’s talking about! I love my Nose so far and I’m only 5 days post op with a cast on my face!! Xxx

i didnt expect anything amazing as i didnt want to get my hopes up and plus who knows what happens when your down in theatre! but by the looks of everything now im very happy hes done a good job hes done my nose to suit my face which is more important to me xx

Well the option of closed or open was mainly left up to me. My main problem was my bump in my bridge, luckily my tip was as drG said ‘very nice and small’ lol. He did say that he can do some tip work doing closed but not loads if that’s what u need, then u need open rhino. What’s good with him is that he explained that as I have strong features like big eyes, a small sloped nose (what I originally wanted) wasn’t goin to look natural. So I decided on a straight nose (look at littlechelles pics, that’s what finalised it for me lol) So dr g agreed that was best and that he would narrow the bridge and take some from the tip too just to smooth it all out!

If u have an iPhone, there is an app I would highly recommend where u can alter ur nose. This is what I used and gave the pic to DR G and it looks like he’s achieved it! Xxxxx

rinaule♥ you know with open rhino did you have to clean your nose at all at home? (this is the bit i dread in case i do it wrong) like what is mya aftercare treatment like?

sofs87 what is the app as i have tried a few and i cant get any of them to work properly!! Im having closed too and Mr G said the same to me that he didnt have to do much to my tip so thats why i could have closed as the majority of work will be on my bump and just a little bit of tip work! All the open and closed surgery noses I have seen on here look amazing!! xxxxx

my incsions were fine the only time iv cleaned them is getting the dry blood off them for the nurse, when she toomthe stitches out, and i just wiped over them this morning with a cotton pud because there was some snot around it where i cried haha! getting the dried blood off just boil water put some salt in and clean with a cotton bud carefully dont press down too hard.

i did have to wipe my nose constantly 9 days straight as snot just comes out all the time but it didnt harm my nose do anything really you just dab it or stick a tiny bit of tissue u up there quick to soak it up!

when i saw the nurse yesterday she was brillant even though there was other people waiting to see her she took her time with me! i love her! xxx

Layla if u search virtual plastic surgery in the app store it should come ip. It called the dr solomon app, I thought it was wicked! It made decide a million percent I was going through with it! Can also make u decide on a slope or a straight nose. U sound similar to ne so once my friggin Internet is up and running u can see my photos and hopefully that helps! Xxx

just downloaded the app, its great..(when i went for my consultation i thought they would use this sort of programm of something like it but they dont use it at mya..i just said i want a nose like jordan or megan fox & i want curve..do you think it would have been better to take have taken a pic? oops as i didnt do this xxx

i didnt take a pic dw but i did on the day of katie prices nose! hes giving me more a slope tho than slight slope i reckon but it suits me i just uploaded two more photos im waiting for the rest to download xx

sofs87xxx im a bit worried at the moment that with the bump etc gone the tip will look too long.. i like the shape of my tip and dont want that to change but just wondering if hes gonna be able to make it short enough for it all to be in proportion with a closed rhino.. what do you think? Did you want your tip shortened? Yeh would be great to see your pics hun! Iv got my preop pics on mine so you can see what my nose looks like now! Im going to see Dr G again on saturday so gonna ask him about this aswel.. And ill have a look for that app!

I also thought i wanted a curve but i just dont think it will suit me… so gonna go for a slight slope and hopefully it will be ok!!!

Layla that’s exactly the worry I had. My tip was fine with my old nose but I was worried that with the bump removed it’d just look really long and weird!I was so worried about this but honestly he knows what he doing. When u have the hump removed the tip automatically refracts slightly upwards sk it won’t look really long. He can take a bit off the tip doing closed so if like me u don’t need much taking off then it’s fine! Argh wish I could up loaf ur pics cos then it might put ur mind at ease cos that was exactly what I was worried about! Thought my tip wouldn’t suit my new nose but he seems to have done it perfectly. He said if I wanted to slope my nose he would probably have to do it open cos if I sloped it and didn’t do much to thr tip, it could look a bit bulbus! After fiddling around eith thr app I think straight suited me better anyway (luckily)!!

heey chrsta, i had open septorhinoplasty last weds at highgate with dr gonschior, so far i love my nose and have the cast on still! the recovery is a bit shit for the first few days, all bunged up n whatnot but yeah just like having a bad cold! i had a bump cuz i had a deviated septum and he reduced the tip also.

had stitches out today!

is good that he has recommended open… if its open they can see more what they are doing so you get extra stuff sorted if that makes sense. im glad i had open!

ive gone for a reduced tip and a very slight curve… see my profile pic for my computer generated image of what I wanted, seems like dr G has got it spot on!

Thanks sofs that is reassuring and im sure that he wouldnt have said i could of had a closed op if he thought i would need loads off the tip.. just starting to worry lol! but yeh he said he can take a bit off the tip so im sure it will look fine.. Omg loving that app… done two one with a slight slope and one with more of a slope.. have put them on my profile! Im sooo excited lol! Yeh i defo trust his opinion.. and he said he can shorten the tip with closed so hopefully will be enough.. xxx

Yeah totally addictive, I think I had like 50 different pictures all with slight differences, that made a massive difference to me but no one could tell the difference between them lol xx
