I REALLY DO NOT want to come off my PILL!

I was just wondering, when I went to my consultation with Dr Ben Chew, he asked me if I was on the pill and I told him yes.

Ive noticed that around half the girls on the pill have been told to come off of the pill before their surgery, and half have not.

He never said anything to me about coming off of it, and to be honest I’d rather not come off of it.

I was just wondering do you think he would refuse to do the surgery unless I came off of it?

I REALLY would not like to stop taking it as I get some problems when I’m off of it.

Do you think if it came down to it I could just stay on it and not say I’m still on it?

I emailled my Patient Co-ordinator about it and she said he’d want me to come off of it, I’m still sticking by my GUNS and REALLY DO NOT want to come off of it, I get VERY irregular periods and SEVERE cramp when I’m not on it. To me it’s really NOT worth coming off of it….

Hey Bex, I carried on taking the pill. My logic was that majority of girls seem to be allowed to carry on taking it so it can’t be fatal. I know you should follow advice from qualified person I just want you to know that I didn’t stop taking it…AND I’M ALIVE! Couldn’t face feelig grotty from surgery and also from impromtu period and then months of getting cycle back on track! xx

yea I doubt ill come off it…I cant be arsed going back to 10-day long VERY HEAVY and VERY PAINFUL periods…..My doctor thought i was having a misscarriage once the pain was so bad :S (iv never BEEN pregnant before in my entire life btw)

i am exactly the same as u and my surgeon has assured me that i do not need to stop taking it. they said the risks of getting pregnant while not being on it and effects of coming off it like u said are higher than the probability of any complications because it is a relatively quick surgery!

hi girls the reason you stop taking the pill is you are more at risk of blood clott if you are on the pill xx

My surgeon doesnt want me to come off mine either.

I think it depends on the surgeon u have; your blood pressure and previous history too.

Bear these in mind; the surgeons/nurses know best for YOU as an individual xxx
