I'm Not Excited

Is it normal to feel this way?

I have four days left until my surgery, but all I want to do is cry. I feel kind of selfish for wanting/having this surgery plus having to sort out this GP letter MYSELF is kind of getting me down.

You are feeling stressed at the thought of this not happening honey,its perfectly normal,when you know its really going ahead the excitement will kick in,you are not selfish at all for wanting to be happy with the way you look,its an emotional roller-coaster for you,I hope you get everything sorted.Because deep down,I think you want this more than anything and your so scared that doctors note wont be ready in time.xx

I am on weds and have mostly been feeling really calm but I think maybe I dont believe its going to happen as I have had so many problems with my pc. What is the gp letter for? x

Thanks girls, if it wasn’t for all your great advice and kind words I think I never would have got as far as this.

Luckily the receptionist took my number and got my doctor to call me back, she gave me her fax number so I gave it to Kate the nurse to get it all done and dusted ASAP. I find it a little disheartening because I had to do all these bits last minute myself, chasing people up etc. But hopefully that’s the last of it now.

I’m so sorry to moan girls, I suppose, like you said, it hasn’t really sunk in yet! I’ll probably get excited when Thursday gets here.

Umm the GP letter was just to confirm I was fit and healthy to have the surgery. I was sent to an eating disorder clinic and therapists etc etc for depression so they had to double check basically.

Yeah it’s not great that you had to do it yourself, the nurse should really have rung your gp herself to sort it out. Anyway hopefully now you can have your op on friday! woohoo xxx

I better be having it on Friday, otherwise there will be hell to pay Lol.

I am having 410cc overs I think, I have ordered 380 as well but I’ve had my heart set on 410s for a while now.

Hello i kinda felt this way toooo xx and also on the day i wasnt reallly excited… the nurse came and goot me and i was like ok im off now bye… then i got to theatre and got a bit excited then i was gone. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz lol xx

Hi Kayteelou, I think it sounds normal to feel this way. You’ll probably be able to relax more once your GP letter is sorted. I am not unti the end of September but I think when I get to the stage you’re at I will also be nervous and wondering if i’m doing the right thing. I think you have to think of the reason why you want it done and how much better you will feel once it’s all over. Good luck and let us all know how it goes on the big day. I’m also 410 overs, what size are you to begin with? x
