Implant!

I know its a bit off subject but I have a big audience of ladies on here so thought it was a good place to ask! Is anyone on the contraceptive implant on here? Has it made you put on weight?? Im working my arse off at the gym but never seem to lose a right lot and all I wanna do since having it is eat!! Its a bloomin nightmare! Anyone else like this???!! x

Plus im worried that after my ba i wont be able to exercise for a while and will end up a gigantic heffa lump!! lol

im not on the pill, i have the coil. i workout 4x a wk and cant lose a pound.. its a nightmare and can see where ur cuming from..

I have had the implant for 3 years this August, had no side effects really… well, apart from not having a regular period which was rather annoying for the first year or so lol, I wouldn’t have one for 5 months then be on solid for 3 weeks or something ridiculous!! When I have it removed I will have another one in straight away.. haha.

BA and implant replacement in August… lucky lucky girl! Lol

I have heard that the newer implants are a pain in the ass though, I suppose it’s like anything, completely different reactions for different people!

Yeah I’m finding that with my periods but ive never been that reliable anyway. Was soooo bloated the other day when it was time i felt like id put on literally a stone! Might have to start being more strict with myself food wise, especially post op! Starting to get really fed up with it now and lose motivation which i dont wanna do! grrrr x x

Weight gain, serious mood swings, depression is just a few of the side effects I’ve had, just booked an apt to have it taken out.

Have read up this is quite common- some people don’t get any side effects at all!!!

I had the implant put in when i was 17.. for the full 3year i was on a period, give or take a couple of weeks through out the whole time. Was an abso nightmare! I didnt really see much weight gain, but my moods were all over the place etc. When i was due to get it taken out the nurse was suprised i lasted the full 3year with it. I went on to the pill, but was usless at remembering to take it so now have had the coil fitted march last year… & im back to the same as what i was with the implant in, on a period none stop .. come off for my first 5 days in a year last week & back on again, my moods swings are back & get very depressed at times….. i just cant seem to win, the pill would have been perfect but i dont want to chance to remembering to take it again. booooo!

I had the implant for about 6 months & put on a huge amount of weight & got very depressed, had it removed & immediately I felt fine & had to work really hard to lose the weight again. Also, I have bad scarring from having it removed, it had attached to a muscle or something & they had to make several incisions & push the end of a pair of scissors down my arm to pull it out, was hideously painful & bled like mad(don’t think this usually happens though!)!

I am on the depo provero jab now, which is supposed to cause weight gain, but after having 2 kids I now weigh less than I did before I had them! Has completely stopped my periods too, which is amazing! xxx

The things us girls have to go through eh?! Blokes have it well easy the jammy sods!! Its just so frustrating when im working so hard!!

Strange how your body works though, my doc put me on a pill about 18 months ago that is similar to the implant before going on it to see how i’d react…i was full of spots, constantly on my period and had awful mood swings. Came off it after a couple of months which was about 18 months ago and decided to try the implant anyway cos the pill just wasn’t working for me. Its not been as bad as the pill but im still getting peed off with the weight issue! x x
