If there’s a family history of breast cancer (My Mum), would that affect any recommendations a surgeon might give? xx
I haven’t seen my surgeon yet (seeing him Wednesday) but at my appointment with PC, she said the history of breast cancer on my Mam’s side made no difference at all. x
Hey kezzakattami1, I was told that breast cancer is more detectable if the implant was placed under the muscle rather than over. Also if you have any breast screenings then it needs to be with someone that is trained to work with implants as if you get anyone that isn’t they may cause the implant to rupture if done incorrectly. Hope this helps a little bit. x
It runs in my family dads side! scarey stuff! but im booked in for my boobjob! xx
heeey babe. my friends family.every female has the breast cancer gene, as does she and she had a ba 2yrs ago and has been fine xx

My mum has had breast cancer and i had surgery in November, I have been advised that for any checks you just have to advise you have had implants xx
There’s breast cancer in my family too, maternal grandma and aunt. I was told it didn’t make a difference in detecting it, but as pauline said, you just have to make them aware when you go for a mammogram that you have implants. Discuss it with your surgeon to put your mind at rest hun xxx
