So today (19 days post op) I was FINALLY allowed a shower and to take my steri strips off!
I’ve uploaded photos of my incisions if anyone wants a look. At my one week check one of the loose strings off the stitches was laying over my incision so it wasn’t healing properly, but they look as though they’re getting better now

Does anyone have any advice on sports bra/comfort after taking off the steri strips?
They feel a bit more sore now I’ve taken them off!xxx

Make sure you pull your bra down to your ribs so it sit lower rather than insiscions x

@laurawight I found that wearing a soft Primark sports bra (mine is quite long) underneath all my high impact ones helped as all of them were sitting on my incisions and rubbing on them but that seemed to stop the problem and my incisions have healed nicely! Xxx

Out of all the sports bras I’ve collected so far, I’d recommend the shock absorber ultimate run sports bra It’s very comfortable and doesn’t rub on the incisions, and it’s great for back support as well (from what I’ve experienced). Macom bras are not very supportive/comfortable considering their price. You need to be measured for the shock absorber though. xxx

I like the primark and asda ones as they are long. But for max support the shock absorber x

Look so good Hun. Is your incision line bumpy due to healing? Mine is slightly x

@amy03 @sharksaub00bage @eleanorerg thank you for the advise girls! So worried about it rubbing and affecting the healing! Going to try a different sports bra as I think the seam of this one is on my incision. I’ll try one of my asda ones again and see how that feels! I have some 32DD ones which are far more supportive but I’m not sure if they are too tight as they pull my boobs inwards as well as upwards? Can this affect how they will look long term?xxx

    @jlmxo
no problem, I’ll accept now 🙂 xx

@eleanorerg totally forgot to reply there haha! Yeah it is a bit bumpy, it’s defintely not smooth! But I guess that will settle down in time! Is yours?xxx

@kikij87 thanks for this! I might put one of my asda ones under the one I have on now and see it that helps then!! Xxx

@eleanorerg I can’t wait until they’re all healed! I actually haven’t had much bruising at all even from day one, my right incision is giving me trouble though but I’m assuming it’s just less heard than my left because of the string being over it! Hopefully they’ll be fine in a week or so!
Yeah i would, I took the tablets in my first 2 weeks and I had no bruising so not sure if they were the reason! Xxx

That’s a plus! How have you found showering and washing your hair? Xx

    Menu

@eleanorerg definitely! It’s not been too bad, been washing my hair in sink so I don’t get shampoo in my incisions
Shower felt a little strange as one boob is super sensitive but it wasn’t too bad!
    You?xx
