    Hey girls!
I’m 5WPO on Friday. My right incision is healing pretty well. My left I think is normal but just want some reassurance, Iv got a stitch sticking out on the end and in the middle which is making it a bit scabby. Is it normal to still have scabs where the stitches stick out?

Jess I haven’t had my surgery yet so I’ve no idea darling x however I had surgery last year and there were two incisions in either side of my belly, I had dissolvable stitches (which I believe may be the same kind used in BA) and I had scabs on those and I had string hanging out. The string started to feel hard after a bit it was there poking out at the end I even went to A&E I was that concerned! They wouldn’t even pull it out, they basically said I had to wait til it happened naturally. It was there about 4-5 months and one day I’d noticed it was gone it has obviously fell out xxxxxx hope this helps, if u are worried it is defo worth a call to the nurse who does ur pre/post op xxxxx

Hi jess I had stitch bit stickin out when i saw surgeon week 4 it was the loop bit that finds it harder to disolve. He picked it out and said wd now scab n heal .. that was two weeks ago im comin up for week 6 and is still scabbed but looks like healthy scab now. Im actually going to the docs tomoro (my normal nhs practise) as cant be bothered to travel to see my surgeon and want the nurse to check it is ok, You mayb need the bit of stitch removed to help it heal- You could google it to find out? Or can you still ask your nurse? I will ask tomoro if not x

I was advised at a + e not to pull my stitch out, mine wasn’t from the same type of surgery but was told due to them being dissolvable you need to wait til it falls out naturally as pulling out can cause problems. Maybe it doesn’t apply to you girls with it being a different op but I’d strongly recommend against it. Let it heal on its own and if anything looks not right defo contact nurse xxxxxx
