im 9 days post op today and had my strapping off at day 7, the nurse kept the plaster things on my incisions and said i can take them off today and shower. i dont know it im just worrying to much but im scared to leave the plaster things off covering my incisions incase anything gets in them or they get infected? i was thinking about having a shower then buying some more to put back on them? has anyone else had this worry or am i being stupid ?? x

Hun I felt exactly the same but you need to leave it as the nurse says as it needs to dry and heal. Don’t worry you’ll be fine xxx

I had my plasters off fay 5 post opp and told i can shower…i an now day 7 and havent had a shower as such…trying not to get them wet …i walk around without plasters on them as they heal better if fresh air gets in to them…the reason i am not getting them wet is cause not taking chances incase i do not patch them dry properly…i had c-section and i let my scar to heal exacly the same way…will shower fullynext week but at the moment i am avoiding any moisture to get into them incisions…we are all dofferent tho…what works for me may not for you…good luck ? x

Thank you girls. I think I’m just worrying to much haha. Because I’m thinking if I have no plasters on, my sports bra will be direct onto the incisions and the thought of that puts me off taking them off ? Xx

The nurse took mine off day 6 post op and I had a shower that evening. It actually feels good to have water running over them lol I don’t dry my incisions but I keep my sports bra off for 10-15 minutes to make sure they are dry first xx

Ask you pc about getting some clear “plastic” plasters that way you can shower and see the incisions heal. Just a thought!
