infection crap after care crap mya

I am nearly seven weeks post op and i have had the worst time eva. i am still wearing sports bra and dressings due to an infection in both boobs due to crap after care sumthin i would call neglegence due to no nurses ever being available totally disgusted

Hun, try not to panic. I had an infection in both wounds too and mine took forever to clean up. My surgeon gave me polyfax ointment plus antibiotics. I would highly recommend the polyfax because I think that did a better job of clearing the infection up than the antibiotics! xx

I had the same, infections on both nipples. Scars r a mess now n need revision. Bit if yours r under your boob you’ll be ok. Xxxx

Don’t even get me started on the nurse situation…….I’m appauled x

omg i know bout the nurse situation, i had to tell my nurse at my week check up what i wanted done?! she hadnt worked at mya n was half hour late, how am i spose to know what needs doing shouldnt she have my file anyway?! made me even more nervous thinkin she didnt know what she was doing!! hope ur infection clears up hun xx

No infection hun…….I had my post op check up last week and I had to tell the nurse what to do!! My pre op was the same too and a sheet of my notes was missing on the day of my Op!! This matter needs to be addressed as there are sooo mamy unhappy patients with infections that needs to be rectified! £4000 is alot of money to be unhappy!! It’s a good job Mr Singh has come up trumps which is the main thinh I suppose!!! x

omg the more I read and all the problems im having with not being able 2 get a nurse 2 do my bloods when my op is only 7days away is worrying me to death

i no were u all coming from it hard to get hold of the nurse if not u cant get hold of her at all i had a troubled time and got so fed up went to my own doctors in end!!! which i didnt want to do as didnt want them to no but it was the last option and found that all my problems were down to the steri strips the nurse put on after the op she had put them on the wounds irratating them and make the ouze!!!

did get a phone call yesterday off top dog at mya as i had expressed how dissapointed i was she said it was just a phase as they were making changes etc well i afraid when u pay this money for the ba it includes aftercare and to me it rubbish at moment am seeing mr singh on thursday and will b informing them of everything!!!!

I dont think in all cases the nurses are to blame for infections. this can happen to any-one and although it must be awful for people when it does happen but it cant totally be blamed on myas aftercare. i never needed to ring the nurse for any problems, i went to my 1 week check had dressings removed and had steri-strips placed over my insisions and removed them when told to do so and ive not had any issues. i can understand why people get angry if they cant contact people at mya. but i think getting an infection varies from person to person every-one is different.

i know what you mean laura21, and i was lucky enough not to have any problems so far. but i know if i did get an infection or something like that i would want a nurse to speak to and to help as much as possible which has been dificult for some going off the comments above. this is where mya appears to be failing.

sorry to hear about your situation jeloondolly. does everything seem to be ok after going to your own doctor? i hope so, and deffo tell them everything thats happened when you go there on thursday x

It’s only the people who have some kind of problem that r affected by the shit aftercare. If your 1 of the lucky ones who sail thru then great. Unfortunately I wasnt, n neither were lots of others on here. Xxx
