Infection in nipple incision – great aftercare!

I had my post op appt with the lovely mario on tuesday and all was fine, no bra for 4 weeks recommended but all looking great and passed inspection! Tues night i noticed a small amount of stuff leaking from a stitch that was dissolving, so potential infection! Just wanted to share to everyone that might be worried about getting infections too, that my aftercare has been fantastic. The nurses were great and I was advised to go straight back into manchester clinic the next morning so swabs could be taken and sterile dressing put on. I have no symptoms of infection, feel fine and no temp so probably just my body reacting to the dosslving stitch which was sticking out like a small piece of cotton wool.

i’m booked to go back to the clinic on saturday for another check up and hopefully all will be well again!

Glad it was nothing serious hun. I went yesterday for my 2nd appointment with nurse and she said I was healing perfectly. I was suprised to see how well my nipple incisions are healing up she said I have 2 stitches showing around the nipples that still need to drop off, so I will keep my eye on them. How’s ‘braless’ life going?! Lol xx

not good! its a very weird feeling and at bedtime, it was painful so gonna wear my macom bra at night as didnt sleep at all last night!

glad to hear your all healing well, my nipples are fantastic apart from this little bit that needs to sort itself out. the nurse trimmed my other ones sticking out and covered with steri strips to makesure that they dont get aggrivated too especially now i’m braless!!
