Is it normal for one scar to heal longer then the ther one? Im really worried

Im 11 days post-opp today & just changed my plasters for the first time ( as I was told on my 1-week check-up). My right scar looks ok, but the left one is swollen & it seems like there is a little hole not closed properly in the corner…

Im confused as nurse said they were healing “beautifully”, and the left scar doesn’t look beautifull at all to me! Im really worried.. Does anyone knows how long doest it take for the scars to heal?

They will do everything at different times hun. It’s two separate operations really. So each will heal at its own speed. You’ll find one gets softer before the other. And one drops before the other etc. don’t worry. All normal! xx

Try not to judge. I was horrified to begin with. I hated my scars and regretted my op but since then everything has changed and calmed down considerably. Time is all you need and look after your scars if you’re worried see a nurse. I had infections where the stitches were not dissolving properly snd there are scars there still after six months

I got a shock when I saw my scars for the first time at one week post op. my nurse showed me them in the mirror and I went really light headed and nearly fainted. I was so excited about my boobies and didn’t consider the scars. One of mine hadnt healed and took an extra week. It is two ops but i guess we dont see it that way. I’m 11 weeks post op today and although they are under my boobs I can still see them. They are still a different colour but flat. Check with your nurse if you are worried. I will add you to look at your pics and can tell you what I think…..

They look fine hun, better than mine an im day 18 now. One of mine has a big hole in the middle from am infection an they are really lumpy still. I try not to look at them lol. Just remember to use a hairdryer on a cool setting on them when you come out of the shower an make sure they are fully dry before putting your clothes on xx

They look fine! really neat! My left one is still open a bit on the corner and still a bit raised too! x

Thanks girls, will wait few more days & see if the left one will get any better.. Im worried ‘cos I’ve started driving since 6 days & changing gears with my left hand… now worried I’ve damaged my left scar.
