i had my post op appointment with the nurse 3 days ago and she said i had slight swelling on my left side but nothing to worry about. im now 9 days post op and have a lot of pain down that side. it’s hard for me to tell how swollen it is now as they’ve been hidden under tape for so long.

the on call nurse wasn’t much help on the telephone- talking about infection through oozing wounds, which i explained wasn’t the case, this is more of a deep internal pain, however my left breast is sore to touch.

i know i have to stay patient, but is the pain meant to be so intense still at this point?? xx

i had a lot of pain for 2 weeks hun, everyone heals differently so it just depends. bt i remember everyone saying to me after 3 days it will get easier and i was thinking are u for real!! i was in agony, went bk to work after 2 wk and couldnt do much, had to have another week off. i cant really explain the pain i had tho. more just under my arms and couldnt move much, plus the shooting/sharp pains in my boobs which made me feel so sick, more internal pain. like the nurse says tho as long as thers no oozing or anything u wil be fine. xx

ah thanks. yeah the pain is hard to describe, but very much under my arms which means i cant do much at all. then in my back/side, like a stitch type of pain, plus a stinging and throbbing pain in my boobs. so it is normal? well that does put my mind at ease. thank you xx

yea its normal hun, your body has just been through a lot. think of how much internal bruising u have after having the implants put in. will just take its time to heal. i felt like id been hit by a bus for 2 weeks haha, i just ached all over. u wil get to a point when each day gets easier. hope u are happy with your new assets tho xx

You poor thing. You have had a hard time of it. I had pain for two weeks too like shooting and nagging pains. Week three got a lot better and didn’t need pain killers. Keep in touch w your nurse if the pain is still bad. Is this pain beyond painkillers or are u coping without them. I was told to stAy on them as long as I felt pain. There is no set time period for taking them. I definitely coped better week 3 and week four no pain. Feel for you and understand so don’t feel alone- Hugs xxxxxx
