Hi Ladies, it’s my turn tomorrow…..any tips and advice (i’m having overs)? I’m also really worried about the bloating, how long did you take your painkillers for? Did any of you stop the painkillers and take paracetomel and ibuprofen? I have 800mg ibuprofen tablets (the strongest you can get – you have to have the precribed) – I also have quite a high pain threshold so do you think I will be OK?

How long did it take for your swelling to go down? How long did you have to sleep upright for? What happens when you get to the hosp? Apparently i’m second on the list xxxx

Enjoy your day,it is over before you know it.

Have some mild laxatives in the house this is advised in the post operative care notes you are given, drink lots of water, eat healthily, and get mobile as soon as you can, even just gentle walks around the house when you feel up to it,don’t do to much rest is important to aid your recovery, your body will tell you if you are doing too much, take your medication as directed, prevention is better than cure, use the nurses contact number if you have any worries, the swelling can take a few weeks to go down,it varies from person to person, and treat each breast as a separate operation, they will heal soften and drop at different stages,it is usually advised that you sleep elevated for the first 2 weeks check with your nurse as instructions are usually tailored to you as an individual.

When you get to the hospital, report to reception, some one will come and get you,you will be taken to your room and they will go through the admission process.xxx

Nothing honey, you need to be make up free,no moisturiser or deodorant, you wont care about nothing but your new boobs once the excitements kicks in so don’t worry, you can always take your make up with you and put it on before you leave, but to be honest, you may not feel up to it.xxx
