just had my 1 week post op with nurse and im worried

had my op last week, and went to manchester mya today to see nurse, Usual nurse was off sick so a nurse from glasgow stood in for the day. She was nice and took off my dressings and looked at me and said ‘do u want the good news or the bad’ i said bad.. she said well there isnt really a bad just that your scar has lapped and so is still open a bit and will just need to keep on paper stitch as she calls the stri strip for 3 days.

My surgeon was helena and anyone whos had her will know all the sticky strapping she wraps you up in so when i got home I took off my top and washed away all the sticky tape and noticed black bruising under my left boob and swelling to the side of it. Its sooo painful, more so now than after the op. I did mention the pain to nurse before she took off dressings as i ordered a new macom bra which i put on today for first time and pains got bad just in that side since wearing the new bra, nurse told me to bear with it as the macom bra will do me good for the shape, the pain is unbearable at times and comes in waves.. Im worried and when the pains come its goes through to my shoulder blade the nurse didnt mention my swelling or bruising, im not sure if she might of though it was the stick from the tapes as they left a lot of black marks but its definatly not xx

my scar is open too at the sides, im not 2 weeks post op and still have the dressings on one of them! so your not alone with that! xx

Hey Hun, I’m one week post op to and my left is still open at the side. It is still early days Hun don’t worry. If your worried ring the 24hour nurse chick that’s what their there for x x x

im not too worried about the open part as she said it would be fine in 3 days, but just worried about the pains and swelling and bruisind as this is on the other side where scars have healed so dont know what it all is.. xx
