Just had my cast off my nose!!

So happy with the shape of my nose, it is exactly what i wanted. The bump in the bridge is finally gone and i now have a lovely slope My nose still looks very swollen though, i know this is normally but wondered whether the nose will get alot smaller and how soon? If anyone else has had rhinoplasty would love to hear from you

I had my nose done 5yrs ago now, but remember being sooo upset when cast was off as I thought it looked the same as before. It took a good 6months-1year(!!!) before it had completely settled. Now I LOVE IT also I found that the stitches (I had them inside) made me have a really sensitive nose for a good year also but its normal and goes away.

Georgia, do you not have dissolvable stitches inside your nostril? Lucky you if you don’t as they were really annoying!! I am 4 weeks post surgery and my nose changes every other day, as long as you look after it and keep it elevated every night it will keep getting smaller and smaller- mine was so puffy for the first few weeks (it’s still puffy now but has gone down loads). Glad you’re happy with it! It’s such a good feeling isn’t it!xxx

Talia has all your bruising gone by 4 weeks. I’m 2 weeks post op and bruising is still terrible! Upsetting me a bit xx

Hingsy, how bad is the bruising? Im having mine done on the 1st december but i only booked two weeks off work! was hopin the bruising would have gone by then . Did u have open or closed? xxx

Jus had my cast off and i like ma nose…its not as sharrp as i wanted but i guess the tip and between my eyes is still swollen!!..ma family Looove it so i guess it looks good!!lol..i have no swelling under my eyes or around my face and im soo surprised..but overall the whole process was DEFINATLY worth the results!!..i just cant wait for the nose swelling to go down n get to cc my reall nose

so happy for you all! Hingsy, Don’t worry bruising will improve very quickly nows so dont’t get upset. I’m 5 weeks post up and no brusing and the swelling is now just mainly on the tip but not something that other people notice. xx

Hingsy, the brusing should go down drastically now, the first two weeks are the worst. Invest in a bit of cheap teenage style cover-up to cover the bruises. Are you using Arnicalm cream? I found that ridiculously good, you could see the difference everytime you woke up after heaping it on the night before xxx

Hi girls!

Swelling normally takes about 5-6 months to totally settle down then up to a year for the final results. I am 6 and half months po now and i have noticed all the swelling has gone and i am loving the results! Hingsy don’t let the swelling get you down hun, you are only 2 weeks po and swelling will start to go down, its just hard to notice it at the time as you’ll be looking at your nose 24/7!!!!!!

Also i found that if you sleep elevated with a V shape pillow that helped with the swelling in the mornings as thats when mine looked the worst!!!

Well I’m just over 3 weeks post op now and the brusing has faded a lot. Still have 2 stubborn bruises on my cheek but I think they are fading. I tried arnica cream but didn’t do that much for me. On the plus side have very little swelling xxx

Thanks Girls! Noticing the swelling is going down daily, woohooo!! Still sleeping with my V shape pillow trollydolly, maybe thats whats doing the trick! Hingsy, so so glad your bruising is going down! xxx
