Just received letter post-consultation and confused! Pleas help! :/

I went for a breast augmentation consultation last week and have just received my letter through.

At the consultation the doctor placed his hand in front of my breast to give an idea of the 2 sizes that I could choose between. He quickly decided that the second option would be too big for my frame (I am a size 6/8, 32B – in padded bras – so probably a 30inch). However, I did not feel as though I got a good indication of what size I would end up. I did ask and he said he couldn’t tell me precisely, but probably a D/DD.

However, I have just looked up ‘FF255 Allergan implants’, which he mentions in the letter, and the internet seems to suggest that these are 255 cc implants. After looking about it doesn’t seem as though these would take me up to a D or DD but more likely a C?

I am petite so don’t want to end up with ridiculous looking boobs, however if I am going to go through the pain and expense of the operation I want to make sure the results are worth it!

Please can anyone help what size a 255cc implant would take me up to and whether or not I should be considering a larger option or whether I should just take the doctor’s word for what is suited to my body shape?

He also said that round implants would make me look like Victoria Beckham (!) even though that had been what I had originally wanted – so he decided on the oval shape…

Don’t want to seem rude as he obviously knows best, and I don’t want to end up with obviously-fake looking boobs, but like I said also don’t want to wish I’d gone bigger!

Who did you see? Placing his hands on you to show you what size you’ll be is just silly. You need to try the implants in a sports bra. If I were you I’d get more than one opinion and ask to see someone else x

I agree, that gives you no indication at all, call and ask to see him again or someone else and stipulate that you want to try implants.

I didn’t go to a Mya Clinic, I actually went to a Nuffield. And had to pay £120 for the consulation! 😯

Am considering going for a consultation with Mya as well, like you say for another opinion… Do they show you the implant then? x

At mya they put the implants in a sports bra so you can get an idea of how they’ll look. Also, consultation is free x

Hmm I am also a very small build and have had 2 ba’s now for my first I had 380cc overs they measured at a 30E/28F but they really looked no bigger than a DD. With implants they tend to look smaller than they measure so it’s a good idea to take in photos of how you want them to look rather than saying a size

You should go and see Dr Adamo at MYA he is a amzing surgeon and gets the sizes perfect!

Definitely go and see at least one other surgeon hun. MYA and Transform both do free consultation. I seen 3 surgeons, one of which I had to pay for too. They all said the same thing to me with regards to implant size so I was pretty confident then that the size offered (260cc implant with an uplift) would give me what I wanted. You will also find that you feel more comfortable with one particular surgeon. I had Mr Traynor at MYA and he is just lovely. If you’d like a look at pics just add me as a friend xxx

yeh ure right definitely need more than one opinion.. i wasnt v happy with him to be honest, i couldnt tell at all how they wud look after the op & i felt that he was rushing me through the consultation and kept pulling faces when i asked questions lol i also found that the way he said straight away he “tends not to do round implants” a bit strange as surely it’s up to the patient?

i understand his concerns as i am very narrow up top and not much skin (pinch 2cm apparently), but i still had a different idea in my head of how they would look.. and def need some indication in real life of the size n shape before i go ahead!! my mum and friends found it strange that he didnt show me any implants in person..

The surgeon I paid to see was exactly like that. He was so arrogant, he didn’t even really ask what I wanted and just TOLD me what he was going to do and basically, I could like it or lump it (he didn’t use those exact words, obviously 😆 )I just felt like he talked at me rather than to me the whole time. I knew before I’d even left the room that there was no way I was going to let him do the op. Now that I come ot think of it, the first thing he said to me and my hubby when we went in was “I’m not here to try and persuade you to choose me. I am one of the best breast augmentation surgeons in the country so it’s really up to you” He was so far up his own bum its unbelievable!

Yeah definitely, he didn’t even seem arrogant just disinterested! Maybe I was his last consultation of the day and he was in a rush to go home but yeh, the more I think about it the more I can’t imagine going ahead with how little info he gave me. I have no idea of the size, shape etc! If MYA at least show you the implant and are willing to ask you what you are after, then gotta be better than what I’ve already had!

Could you also please tell me how much pain I should expect? And did you stay in over-night after your op?

Also my doc was recommending under the muscle, tear-drop implants. I was initially interested in the round implants – do they only get put ontop of the muscle or can they be submuscular as well? As I know what he’s saying about me looking like Posh Spice (lol) seeing as though I am skinny on top, but I just prefer the shape and have definitely seen v slim girls with the round implants that haven’t turned out looking ridiculous at all!
