hiya babe, i have this too. when i went for my dressings and strapping off my right one was perfect but the left had a tiny hole at the very end which was leaking abit of yellowish fluid. my nurse said it wasnt infected but took some swabs to send to the lab. i went back 3 day’s later for the dressing changing again and she said the small hole was around 5 mm deep which to us in nothing but in medical terms its abit worrying. so she gave me another weeks course of cefalexin antibiotics to take just so if an infection did want to try and flair up they would stop it, she also put me an iodine dressing on in which was to kill any germs. i went back yesterday which will be the 5th time in total ( its been a pain because i live 50 mins away from the leeds clinic where i go) i saw mr kazzazi my surgeon just so he could have a look at my progress and he said the hole has no longer got any depth to it so its healed from the inside outwards and theres nothing to worry about it just didnt knit together as soon as all the rest of the scar did. ive got a dry dressing on now and have to go back tommorow for it looking at again. soo whatever you do darling dont worry. try get a dressing on it, keep it nice dry and intact. eat plenty of protein and keep your fluids up.i know its a bind getting to the clinic but its aftercare thats impprtant honey after something like this. i cannot fault MYA’S aftercare at all they have been absolutly magnificent with me throughout my journey. hope this helps a little but please dont worry yourself just try make sure you get it looked at by your nurse xx
