hi im wondering if you have to have your implants replaced or further surgery after your initial surgery as i am in my early 20s and want to keep them forever and dont want to have to have another op once iv had them done unless i choose to.
Your PC should explain what the life span of each implant is hun.
I’m having the anatomicals (teardrops) and they have a life time guarentee.
Most others I think only have about 10 years although a friend of mine said her friend had hers checked after 15 years and they’re still in tact and in very good order so they don’t need to be changed.
I was told approx ten years, although if you have them checked and they say they are fine you can keep them longer. You would probably need a re op at sometime if your very young. xx
They can last alot longer than 10 years a women on sofem had her 23 years and was only having them.changed to go bigger, so the life span differs person to person, the 10 years is just a guide xx
I think your right littlemisslalas, my pc said he has a woman you he did implants on 25 years ago and there still fine but she has them checked yearly just to be safe! hope thats me one day! xx
Hiya, I’m confused now lol. I went to mya a couple of weeks ago and she said there life time ones at mya??? Or do I have to order special ones?? Thank you x x x
My pc said they last forever it’s just personal preference if you have them changed when your body changes????xx
Ye that’s what mine said, just as you get older gravity is against you that what she said to me, you can breast feed and everything with them she said x x x
Yep that’s what exactly the same as I got told! I don’t want to be forking out thousands again in the future for new ones!xxx
the soft touch are more likely to last longer as they are a cohesive gel and like lou have a lifetime gaurantee other types of implants are ‘liquid’ and hence need to be chacked more regularly as they **could leak** although very unlikely now from before x
check reularly as said before should be fine- but i guess like buying a car upgrades in the future always a good idea as technology will no doubt make them better!
p.s buying a second hand car is the same price so think of it as a good investment as they are inside your body so worth paying for upkeep/upgrades in my opinion. divide the amount by 10 years and its nothing x
Yep true I get what your saying but if I’ve been told theyl last a lifetime but really they won’t…. I just think it’s unfair to say so xxx
Sorry girls, but implants are a lifetime commitment! You’ll be lucky if your implants last 25 years, where most last on average 10-15 years. But that’s only if you have no problems, like capsular contracture or a ruptured implant, in which case you could need a re-op at any time. Remember that the implant is a foreign body and the body’s natural thing to do is to get rid of it or break it down etc. That being said, it depends on you as individuals. Some people heal far better than others. I certainly don’t wanna sound like the bringer of bad news, but you need to be realistic about the fact that you’re almost certain to need a re-op at some point in the future, with further expense. X
some implants itself lifetime guaranteed so if they rupture you will get them replaced free of charge but will have to pay for the cost of the surgery and the only reason most woman have them changed is because of the shape and dropping of the breast x
cui aint liquid, my pc showed me one cut in hald and they are touch like the middle of a jelly bean, so they cant leak. x
well i am very confused now and dont think i want this if i HAVE to have surgery agen. i might opt for it agen but dont want to have to worry about the clock ticking down evry day. has got me worried.
Your pc and surgeon should both have told you they’ll need replacing about every 10 years. I’d hate to think what they’d be like inside my body for that length of time let alone any longer. Some do keep them for longer if they’re still happy with them and others change them sooner due to gravity, aging etc x
The implants themselves carry a lifetime guarantee but the boobjob itself will almost certainly need to be redone, look on the internet.Every pc i saw before i met mine told me this.
Ten to fifteen years is average much longer than that and your lucky! my pc told me that straight away and said certainly a very young girl will need to look at a re op at sometime in the future. bummer but true they dont last forever, they should after what we pay for them.
I have had 2 ops in 1 year and know i will have to have at least one or 2 more in my life depending if i want them when im older.xx
omg I did not even know cui were a cohesive gel too! as they are not on allegen website??!?!
CUI are made by allergen george hun.
thats what my pc told me and i have the allergen-cui card in the house.
they are jelly like in the middle, they have one cut in half at my clinic and it feels funny xx
infact the card is on my pics, u can just about see the allergan worte on the top right hand corner lol.
there are allergan cui and allergan naturelle. xx
My pc described them like a turkish delight, I think thats a pretty good way of describing the consistency of the gel
xx

ok i have been told by 4 people surgeon and pc that i dont ever have to have a re op unless i want to they can stay in me forever. apparently 10 year ago they needed to be redone but we have moved on and now thy can be as permanent as we want them to be. so im very confused were they lying or twisting the truth
Hi chick,
I have had mine redone after 5 years (first one was 2001, 2nd 2006 and having my third on 16th Sept). I think I have been unlucky tho. The first ones rupured the second got capsular contraction…. and now I want them bigger anyway!
Love Nikki xxx

Dont take my word for it girls im only saying what i have been told in the last year and im certainly no pc or nurse, google it or do some research on the internet and you will find out exactly what you need to know. Maybe they use different implants at MYA i used the wessex nuffield hospital and got my info from there.
Ive had 2 boob jobs in the last year but thats just bad luck and not common for many people i dont think. hopefully then i never need another fingers crossed! xx
hey i was also told they wouldnt have to be replaced so long as there was no problem with the implant, im not into paying to have them done again, fingers crossed these are keepers! xxx
Ticky….. Which person is given the wrong info?xxx
I was told they’d need replacing. Mya mod needs to come on here and tell us x
