This one is for the post op mums, how long did you wait until you started lifting and getting more back to normal with your children? I’m currently 6 days post op and have just been to see the nurse for my 1 week check up. She said I’m healing nicely which is good to hear but she also told me that I shouldn’t be lifting my children for another 5 weeks!! I have 18month old twins so this seems nearly impossible to me. I was prepared for 2 weeks as this is what I’m sure I was told originally but another nurse and and maybe even my pc. I really don’t want to do any damage but at the same time I just can’t manage to not be lifting them x

I read in the pack thing they give you that its 6 weeks :/ i have a very clingy 2 year old tho who will have something to say about it tho lol. I would say try and get your oh to do as much if he can, im planning on crouching down to the floor to cuddle her still as she can climb the stairs etc herself. Have you got any family or friends who can come over and help out a bit? Glad to hearyoure healing well 🙂 xx

Oh really.. how did I miss it this!! Yeah luckily I do have lots of help but there will still be a few days each week that I’m on my own. I guess we can do finger food on the floor and I can skip bath time sometimes but getting them up and down the stairs and in and out of their cots is going to be a massive challage.. I swear these boobs are taking over my life haha

Hi I had a chunky 10 month old when I had my op, she wasn’t walking so after about 10 days I was picking her up. I just made sure I was careful xx

I’m three days post op. I have had to try and lift mine. My 17month old was taken to hospital in an ambulance yesterday so I just had to do my best. And I’m already on my own with them both with my other half being back at work.
I’m just bending down and scooping up using my knees to push me up but trying not to hold them long x

I hope your little one is ok Sally!! And yeah I think minimal picking up and being very careful with how I do it is going to be the answer. My husband has been amazing so far but 6 weeks is unfair on him and my boys so fingers crossed I’ll manage x

I have 6 year old twins & am worried about how I’m going to be post op. I’m having a full TT with lipo. My little boy is autistic & can be quite physically demanding. My hubby is taking a week off work after I’ve had my op but he’s self employed, so it’s not that easy. I’m currently trying to get a support network around me for afterwards & loads of friends have says they’ll help. MIL too although she’ll no doubt drive me insane after a few days!! Xx
