Most people don’t get postponed, so the liklihood of this happening to you is very small. I was postponed because I got ill, I didn’t mind because it was for the best and they managed to fit me in quite soon after; 2 weeks and my op is on Tuesday and the time has flown by. People usually get postponed if they have had past medical problems and MYA need a letter from the relevant doctor/clinic and this can be difficult to get hold of sometimes. Another reason people get postponed is if they have MRSA; it can postpone your op for about 3 weeks as you need to apply a scrub to get rid of it and have to have three consecutive negative tests.

Basically if you have nothing significant in your medical history and you don’t think you have MRSA then you should be fine xxx

I got a phone call approx 8 days before my op telling me it was postponed due to a past medical condition. I can’t fault them for being careful over my health but I was livid that it got postponed so close to my op date.
