Little worried

Hi girls,

Had my BA on Saturday. I was just after a bit of info about how you felt after surgery. I cant take a proper breath, feel really suffocated and my chest feels really really heavy. I have chronic back ache and a keep getting this awful sharp shooting scratchy/itchy stabbing pain thoughout my boobies – sleep is impossible. Im still really numb but by nipples rubbing on anything is unbearable. Its a painful tickle, if that makes sense!? The incisions are hard and really swollen round the bottom of by boob. still quite soft on the top and middle. I think im just being paranoid, i havent had a massive amount of support with my decision to have surgery so would appreciate opinions of thoses that have experienced it all.

Also if it is normal.. how long is it going to last? (especially the back ache)

Every single bit of this is completely normal, at least I hope it is as I had it all too!

For the nipples, vaseline and those cotton wool pads in your bra.

Tight chest, have they grown and you need a bigger bra maybe? This happened to me and this is what i needed.

Stabbing pain is the nerves healing

Numbness, I still have lots

Heaviness is probably the muscles stretching and back pain is maybe because you are sore nd holding yourself all tense.

Rest lots during the day, take painkillers, even just paracetamol, it does get better!!!!!

Hello hun, I had my op on wednesday, aslo suffering from shooting pains and back ach, I only just had a good night sleep last night due to it, I wouldn’t worry just yet as all of my pains are Only just settling down, today was the 1st day I could get up my 3 flights of stairs to my bed room alone without getting breathless, give it a few more days, then if your Still worried ring the energy helpline, to be honest the worst part is the back ach, onc that goes you will be a lot happier xxx

Awe sweetie. Sounds like ur havin a hard time. Did u have unders/overs? The breathing thing is normal. Its soo scary tho isn’t it! I had my op last tuesday and things r back to normal with that now.

As for sleeping-do u have a vpillow? I cudnt have done without mine,its so good.

Sensitive nipples is also normal. I heard putting cocoa butter should help. U cud also try putting cotton buds on ur nipples.

As for the incisions I can’t help u there. Maybe best to call nurse, unless sum1 on here knows anything bout that… ?

I had unders, im not wearing a bra at the moment and it still feels really tight, my surgoen said i dont need to wear one unless its comfortable, iv tried a really big bra on but its too painful around my ribs .

Its sooo weird i completely expected the pain but its the difficulty in breathing and tingling/burning sensations thats been scaring me! when i lay down for a while, then sit back up thats when its worse xx

Hey Katie i had unders to and i had mine on Wednesday

Today is the first day I feel like i am on the mend ive experienced the same as you so dont worry it does get better!

Stil get the shooting pains when i get up out of bed must be the blood rushing or something, Dont worry youll be fine hunny xxx
