Hey guys, sorry for yet another post! But I am still a little worried about the whole loan situation… I have never had a credit card or taken out a loan so I really don’t know how it all works.
I am hoping to book my surgery next month, or even at the end of this month once I’ve been paid. But I don’t know when I need to apply for my loan? Or who to apply with?
Is MYA’s loan called First Medical?
I have heard they are really harsh on who they accept…
If I apply and get declined, will I be able to apply again with a guarantor? Or will I not be able to apply again?
I am wanting to put down a £400 deposit by the end of this month, then pay a little more next month and again at the end of May, totalling between £1000-1500 in deposit (Which my pc said would be absolutely fine) But when do I apply for the loan itself? Especially if I am wanting to book the op for the beginning of June?
PLEASE HELP
xx
If I was you I would try with First Medical and then if you are declined then you can apply for a Credit Card of a Loan. There is no harm in you apply for a Credit Card now, and then if you dont use it then you csn close it – you wont be charged for this. Then if you are declinded for the First Medical then you have the Credit Card as a back up. Theonly way you can stop yourself worrying is by trying. If you are declinded just move onto the next company xx
I was declined with first medical at first but they said i could have a gaurantor, my mum went on the policy and they then said that had been declined and the only way they’d accept me was if i came off the policy completely and another person came on in my place…. so two people who had absolutely nothing to do with the loan would have had to taken it out for me. I was really upset because that is ridiculous to ask and i told my PC. She sent an email to her boss and they spoke to first medical, they then came back and accepted me with my mum on the policy!! My PC told me that MYA put some funding in to first medical so they have a bit more say on who they do and don’t accept. So if they say no at first they’ll give you other options and make sure you speak to your PC about it because mine really helped me! I have terrible credit and wouldn’t have been able to get a credit card or loan elsewhere.
You should call them now and apply or do it through your PC but i called them direct and they contact MYA on your behalf. It took about three weeks to all be finalised…..

hiya ive rang first medical and they rang me back and told me they would accept me providing i had a guarentour, so they will tell you either a no or if u need a guarentour i did the online application and then rang them the next day and got an answer.
Mya need all the money to be sorted 21 days before your op so what ever day u choose for ur op ud have to count 21 days back from then and make sure all ur loan was signed and sent back to first medical by that date.I rang and asked first medical how it works and they start taking payments out a month after the date youve signed (or within 2 weeks of that date) so because i want the money to start coming out at the end of september im gunna get my loan singed for at the end of august get it sent back and then i kno 21 days after that i can have my op at which ever date, so say anytime after 20th sept i can choose a date.
Hope all that makes sence cause i was so confused till i rang first medical and asked how it works! x
Do you think I should call my PC?
I am looking to have my operation right at the beginning of June, say the 1st or the 3rd… so I wouldn’t be able to pay any more towards my deposit 21 days before that? So when would I have to sign my loan agreement?
I am so confused, I thought this would be the easy part lol. I would really like to pay my deposit by the end of this month to secure my surgery date. Would I get my deposit back if I am not accepted by the loan company or cannot find a credit card?
Another problem is, I would need to find a 0% interest credit card. So I can pay it off over a year… but I only work part-time at the moment. So it’s pretty much impossible to get a credit card or loan isn’t it?
Are there any credit cards with a big limit on it as well? If I pay £1000 deposit, then I would need like £2700… I don’t know any credit cards with 0% interest with that much limit on it.
Ohhhhh
xx
have you tryed going 4 the joint application? my pc said when i go down for my consultation my partner just needs to bring wage slips and bank statments, then she will know if i can get the loan where you dont need a deposit and you pay it back at £100 a month over 5 years ? xx
Nuhhh, my boyfriend won’t help at all with the funding of my new boobs lol, he’s already paying one of his loans back at the moment as well so I couldn’t ask him to do it.
My dad said he would be my guarantor if I wasn’t accepted by myself. I have tried to get onto First Medical, to apply online but everytime I have tried, it’s come up with an error.
I really don’t want to be paying for my boobs in 5 years time, I wouldn’t mind paying it back over a year especially with no interest on top of what I would already be paying.
I am just so confused, and panicking so much.
If I called my PC, would she do it for me? Or do you think I should just wait, I don’t have my consultation with Mr Singh until 11th April, after which I will decide who I want to do my operation and when.
Eurgh I feel so helpless and confused.
xx
I just got told u need to have everything sorted 21 days before ur op, so if u had ur op date on the 1st june you would need to make sure ur loan and any money u wanna put down for a deposit was given and sorted by around 11th may, ring ur pc tho cause i think they wouldnt mind a few days over etc im sure they make allowences! all depends also on when u want ur loan to start coming out cause say u signed for it and got it all send back for 11th may it will start coming out 11th june or maybe a week or so after that date so got to think what date is rite for u for when the money comes out.
Ive heard tesco do a good 0% interest credit card over summat like 15 months also santander ive heard they have given out loans to ppl on here but dnt think that would be 0% interest ring first medical first and see what they say thats probs ur best bet xx
im not sure but you should just phone up your pc and talk to her about it? ask if theres anything she could do to help it get sorted. hope it works out for you!! xx
Thanks guys, sorry I’m just freaking out a little
I think I will end up having to just save all of the money to be honest, I don’t see any way I’ll be accepted for the loan or a credit card. And I really don’t want to get myself into debt over it.
I was just hoping to have it all done etc by the end of summer
xx
if ur defo wanting to put a deposit down like u said at the end of may u mite have to wait an extra month and try booking it for july time, or just asking to borrow more on ur loan and not putting down any more after april, just depends how much u can afford to pay back each month, if ur wanting to put a bigger deposit down an extra month to wait for ur op isnt that long would go really quick! ive got to wait till sept..gutted lol x
If you sort the loan out first medical pay MYA the day of or the day before your op. As long as they know you’re accepted with them then they don’t hassle you for the money or anything, it’s just done directly with first medical. If you call first medical it’s much easier, they just ask you a few questions, takes about five minutes and they get back to you later that day or the next day and then they decide what your options are…. xx
I can’t take any time off in July, that’s why I wanted June specifically. My work collegues are taking quite a lot of time off in July so I would need to be flexible in order to cover holidays.
None of them are taking time off until right at the end of June, which is the reason I had my heart set on the 1st or 3rd.
I think I will have to wait a couple more months in that case, as I won’t have as much deposit as I would like to put down until the end of May.
I might have to wait until August to have my op, which majorly sucks.

xx
