Local anaesthetic….?

Hey everyone, just joined the site tonight, just wondering if anyone has had their boobs done under local? I spoke to one of the advisors on live chat and she said it is possible but depends on the surgeon? Just no one seems to have done it and I’m terrified at the thought of going under! Really want them done under local….responses much appreciated xx

Omg this would freak me out even more than going to sleep. I was scared of going under too as I’d never been put to sleep before but I swear I’d do it again in an instant! When I had my little boy I had complications and had to go to theatre after so the surgeon could manually remove my placenta (with his hand!) And to do this I only had a spinal, so was fully awake for it. Felt horrible to feel someone tugging and pulling at my body even though I couldn’t feel any pain. X

Oooooo, Jade, you’re braver than me. Put me to sleep any day!!!! Nice sleep, then wake up and hey presto! Don’t wanna make light of it hun, cos I was really scared before too – more of GA and not waking up for my kids etc. But it’s a doddle – millions of people do it every day for a variety of surgeries. You will be OK hun x x x x

Hun I couldn’t think of anything worse than being awake for the 1&1/2 hrs it took . I was so tired to hadn’t slept proply the night before because I was so excited. After it felt like the best sleep , could have been hrs . It was my first anistetic . I was nervous , Realy don’t no why. Xx

Most people do think its weird, but I’m not squeamish at all, and I’ve watched videos of people having it done under local and it really appeals to me haha. I’ve never had a General before either and just freaks me out loads, I’ve had a few problems with my heart too, just how fast it beats and stuff, and as its still undiagnosed I’m just worried about the anaesthetic even more.. I seriously would love to be awake during it, just hope it’s possible with MYA, thanks for replying everyone xxxx

Fingers crossed for you too Hun, I think any very good surgeon will be ok to do it your way as long as the hospital agrees. Your pc and the nurse will be able to arrange this for you. Xxx

Very happy , I’m a mother of three so after taking slow for a week . I was back to my normal duties. Plus I have OCD watching my husband atempt to clean drove me quietly crazy. I think the first week is the most important , pritty much walked round like a robot Tring to give my incisions the best recovery. 🙂
What size do you want ? Xx

Well I have two little boys, 14 months and 3 years so obviously it’s very hands on with them, my partner could take a week off work so hopefully after that ill be fine! Hahaa would be the same.. Well since I stopped breast feeding my youngest son, I am literally as flat chested as a boy so anything will be an improvement! Ideally would love to be a D though. What did you go from/to? Xx

I was 34b I had 615cc and am a f-g at the min . If you have Breast fed then you will find recovery easier the aching everyone talks about is just like when your milk comes in . And as the days pass you get that feeling like your boobs filling with milk. Xx

Wow that’s a big jump, I would love to go that big but think I would look silly S I’m quite short and small build. Really? That’s good to know, I only stopped breast feeding two months ago so hopefully that’ll make it easier. How sore are they know? Do you mind if I add you? Xx (if I work out how)

There not painfull I still get the aching in different part of my boobs . And tingling I’m told is the nerves reattaching . Xx

My op took less than half an hour so I guess it wouldn’t have been too bad if I’d had a local, but I still think I’d be freaked out slightly and much rather be asleep. I’d never had GA before but it was fine, I slept for 2 days after, was lovely 🙂 x

Thanks Em, had a look at your pics, they look soo good. That was quick Belle, what size were you/are you now? Sounds great ha but I don’t think I’d have the sleep option at home! Xx
