Well, been to get my dressings changed and staples out. (The nurse decided that the staples weren’t ready to come out yet, so I have that pleasure to look forward to next week!)

After she took some pics, she asked me if I wanted to have a look in the mirror. I did and I almost fainted-literally! She had to guide me back onto the bed because the room was psinning! I just wasn’t prepared for what I saw. The staples all the way down my vertical scars and a huge dent in my left breast which is still quite swollen. She said it will all even out once the swelling goes down and the staples come out. She also told me the 34D wasn’t giving me enough support so I had to go and buy a 34c :(

Anyway, its nice to have clean dressings on-although I still can’t shower for another week!!!!!! And I have to still sleep upright unfortunately.

Sorry for the moan ladies, suppose I expected them to look much better when the dressings came off.

Hiya. Did you have an uplift or do some surgeons use staples?

The nurse really should have prepared you by telling you what you were going to see in the mirror. Must have been such a shock! Just remember they won’t be like that forever and that you will soon look fabulous :) xx

I dont know if Mr Kazzazi used staples or not in my uplift, and i didnt see my scars when i had my dressings changed, had a quick look down when i was laid on the bed and saw nipples and that was enough!

I go back for my 2wk post op on monday i hope – waiting for nurse to let me know, so i still cant shower either! xx

Thanks ladies. Yes, I did have an uplift Belle. I am definitefly looking forward to them settling, I’m just so impatient!

I don’t think many surgeons use staples samf, but Mr T said he prefers them for uplifts.

1emz1, thank you, its always nice to hear from someone who has had the same op and is a bit further along the road to recovery xxx

hi hunn, i bet that was a shock but the girls are right in a few weeks the scars will look SOOO much better so just hand in there. and little dents from the stitches are normal theyl go when the stitches do. you should buy some scar sheets or gel to use on the scars around the 4 week mark, they have worked wonders for a lot of the girls xx

Fear not, they’ll change a lot before they’re done settling and you’re not alone, first time I looked in the mirror after my BA I nearly cried. Give it time and spoil yourself in the meantime xx

    Hi Hun,

I had uplift a d 360cc low profile unders 3 weeks ago today and you wouldn’t believe how much they have changed in even a week!

On my right boob the scar has turned into a very faint line – I am so impressed!! Been using bio oil on the scar – was told they were ready to start using it! So don’t worry – when u first see them it is such a stock! I didn’t have staples

But did have to take my stern strips of myself so got a big shock!

Are u in pain? I started driving wednesday! Still very painful! Xxx

    Hi Tiara,

Have you seen my pics? I had uplift and ba 4 weeks ago, I had 260cc in left and 300cc in right. I had nipple reduction too. I only had the skin tightened underneath my right breast because it was the larger breast. I had staples on the vertical scar and from that I have a huge dent too! For a while my right breast was higher up and swollen and my breasts looked so asymetrical. It was heartbreaking to see in mirror.

I’ve had a lot of post op blues because of it (the amount of times I’ve cursed mya is no one’s business) and I’m assured the dent will go and that it’s only from a tight stitch, the dent is still there but not as prominent. My right breast is a lot more settled than it was and almost symetrical with my left now. I’m assured I will have good results and that it will take a while for the skin to settle and stretch.

I’ve been applying cocoa butter and oil every morning and night on the tops and round the sides to hep soften the skin and I do personally think it’s made a difference.

Whilst recovering I’ve been reading, watching funny uplifting films, spending time with friends etc… I’ve even experimented with food and learnt lots of new recipies, I’ve eaten really healthy, drank lots of water and lost weight too! I tried my best to keep positive even though deep inside I was worried, I just tried my hardest to focus on other things and kept reminding myself “you’ve been through a major op, give it time it’s early days yet’ I then thought to myself, right, I’ll judge my breasts at the 3 month mark, that should be sufficient time to see whether I’m happy or not, but even so we all heal at different rates etc. It might even be 6 months for me, I just don’t know. I’ve even refrained from looking at my breasts so often and analysing every little detail thinking that doesn’t look right etc, this believe me only adds to my worry and stress. So I stopped, I just put my cream on now with my cosmetic pads whilst watching tv so I don’t become so obsessed with looking at every detail whilst healing.

All I’m saying honey is give it time, time time! I promise you the girls are right, although my breasts and yours may not look amazing right now, they will in the months to come, look after yourself and try not to stress too much. If you have any concerns ring your nurse, I did and she always puts my mind at rest.

I’ve noticed a big difference in 4 weeks, my breasts are still not completely healed, I still have a slight dent but I know it’s going.

I hope you find some reassurance from this, don’t worry yourself whilst you’re healing because worrying will prolong the healing and it’s not good for you or your body. Trust me lovely, give it time and don’t worry, your body needs postive energy whilst healing, good luck and if you have any questions feel free to mail me and if I can help you I will.

    Take care xxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your support guys, taking my mind off it is probably a good idea. It is so easy to become obsessed with every little detail.

melissa, I am not really in too much pain, although probably a little bit more today than I have been, Just need to take it easy I think.
