I’ve been wearing my MaCom now since saturday and I am literally ITCHING to get it off!! I had a reaction to the surgical tape, but a few hours after it was removed my skin was back to normal. Now, wearing this bra, it’s all inflamed and itchy again. I’ve tried wearing the asda sports bra i bought instead, but it only comes to just under the breasts and presses on my scars :( Also my nipples are SO sensitive, they hurt every time something touches them (i.e. every time i move). Is there anything I can do?

My Macom is itching like mad but i can’t find anything that supports my new boobs as well as it, so i’ve persisted and kept it done up on the tightest with the straps done up quite tight. It was itching me something stupid on my back and my husband has to keep scratching my back for me, i also had a weird reaction to the tape and the nurse was a bit shocked when my skin went dark red when she peeled it back to remove my drains!, but same as you it cleared up after a few hours.

I tried other sports bras, and they don’t support me enough and I just felt safer wearing a proper post op bra, i tried the asda post op but it doesn’t squeeze my boobs together like the macom and i think that’s important for helping them to move in whilst they’re healing rather than staying wide apart.

I put little squares of loo roll on my nipples inside the macom, how about trying to wash the macom first in something really gentle like a non bio powder suitable for babies or something?, it could be something in the fabric from the shop? xx
