I currently have a 19 month old and just wondered how hard it is going to be post op? i know everyone heals at different paces but im just thinking of picking up to put in car seat/push chair/cot etc….. Anyone had any experience with this??

I know it will prob be painful but is it impossible???

I have a 17mth old and had an uplift and implants 4wks ago, my husband was at home for first 2wks so i didnt have to do anything tho i was able to pick him up after about 4 days but avoided doing so since i didnt have to. I have been on mummy duties since 2wks post op and have managed fine, i just made sure i got down to pick him up, but i’ve not found it painful. x

I’m glad this has been asked by the time I have my ba I’ll have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 7/8 month old and my bf will only be able to have a wk off work so I’m worried that after that wk I won’t be ok to pick them up if needed to! My nana and grandad don’t live far and are always happy to help so of needed I could go there through the day so they could help but I’m hoping I won’t have to X

Hi, My daughter is 7 months but I have a 13 year old too. Its worked out that shes off for easter hols from the date of my op so thats great but my mum and other half are off for a week to be with me as The baby’s very needy at the mo… Im dreading the whole not being able to do stuff after but I think its best to get as much help as poss. If you dont need it then great, everyones different but Ive heard some girls are fine while others are in soooo much pain?

I had my BA 15 days ago and I have a 4 year old and a 16 month old. I had people around to help for a few days which helped. But within a few days I was able to carefully lift my youngest, although I only did it when I really needed to. After about a week to 10 days I could pick her up fine.

It is difficult for the first few days as my youngest didn’t understand why i wasn’t picking her up and getting close for cuddles etc, but that doesn’t last long!

I was also properly cleaning and tidying within a few days as we had a viewing on our house so didnt have much choice! Just take it easy and listen to your body when its telling you to rest!
