Hey girls, any idea when we should start the masssaging process?? My ps didnt mention anything about masaging but Ive read it needs to be done, any ideas?? thanks
I got told we can start right away, as long as you’re gentle. Can moisturize and massage as long as you avoid scars for the first 6wks x
I asked mr c after my op and he said that it was an old fashioned idea and I don’t need to do it?! x
yea i asked my sergeon too and he said you shouldnt do it,well if ur having unders anyway as you want the implant to attatch to the muscle,so if u massage it ur just making it take longer to settle properly xx
What is the massage? How do u do it and wat does it do? x
I think you just massage the top of your boobs in small gentle circles, it’s suppose to stop capsular contracture.x
oh right i didnt know that. i love this forum. Thanks x
oooo i always feel so much better after ive massaged mine, sometimes they feel really tight and achy but wen i massage the top of them with cocoa butter they feel awesome
i started doing it after the 1st week just really gently tho and only on the tops of my boobs xx
I started massaging bio oil yesterday (was 4 days post op) and felt weird in my clevage area like a bubble wrapping popping sensation/noise. I stoppped straight away. But I think I should be massaging them right? Last night when I got cold outside got hard nd sore too-is that normal? xx
I think it’s recommended for overs. Unders are less likely to get CC due to the fact the muscle moves around the implant and the movement prevents the scar tissue forming. For us overs girls we have nothing moving! So massage should help prevent. I think anything that might prevent CC is worth doing.. xx
I was told not to massage. I had overs.. And my nurse said bcz the scar tissue is startin to settle around my implant. And the the implant starts to set (so to speak) Every time u massage u break up the scar tissue and the cycle has to start again.. Xx
ok so overal I think forget the massaging unless the surgeon specificaly states to do so
