Massive dilemma… a cold is on the horizion and my op is tomorrow! need advice

I have been feeling just a tiny bit stuffy but I can still breathe through my nose and a bit of a tickly cough… Im just worried Ive caught a cold as a few people I know have one and my nurse said they will cancel my op if i still have it tomorrow what should I do? any advice? xx

Get better? lol ummmmm have you tried that new vicks first defence nasal spray? It’s meant to like stop a cold b4 it gets like bad…..

Think how crap you would feel if you were in pain and had this rubbish cold to deal with too? Would the sneezing and coughing not make the pain worse?

If you do end up with the cold it’s no biggy! They’ll just re-book your surgery in like a week or a few weeks or so! lol plus would you rather not be healthy when your recovering?

Hey dont take first defence!! !!I had a cold coming and asked and they said not to use it before the op!!! Just have lots of fruit and vitimin C tablets. My sniffles were gone by the morning x

lol! apperently it’s not good to take before the op. Not sure why :o( Must be something in it that mixes with the anethetic.

thanks you guys, im so worried ive waited so long for tomorrow the nurse told me on the phone if I still have a scratchy throat they might cancel it gutted! im taking vitamin tabs and cloves of garlic (eww I know) but its supposed to boost your immune system so fingers crossed! thanks for the advice wish me luck haha x

that’s a nightmare but believe me, you don’t want to be sneezing and feeling rough after your op, when we were driving back home after my op (last Thursday) I was a little tender when we went over pot holes in the road, wouldn’t like to think how sore it would be sneezing. Chin up and have an early night and honey and lemon, you’ll be amazed you might be feeling 100% in the morning – hope so hun, fingers crossed xx
