Microgynon contraceptive pill

Hi there girls, I am thinking about getting a BA as soon as my loan is approved. One thing is, I REALLY don’t wanna come off my pill when I go in for the op…..do you HAVE to come off it? I’m quite young and have never had any problems when it comes to blood preassure or anything so I thought that maybe they’d let me stay on it.

I get like excruciating cramp without it also…like so bad my doctor thought I was maybe pregnant once….and having a miscarriage another time :S

hun, I’m having BA in 2 days & i’m still taking my contraceptive pill, I’m on the same brand as u & when i saw the surgeon he never told me to stop taking it, so I checked with my nurse she said i didn’t have to stop taking it.

so I’d check with ur nurse or surgeon xx

Hi, I am 1 week post-op now and i never stopped taking the pill. i had Mr SINGH said you can carry on taking it as normal, i think it depends which surgeon you have. best thing you could do is check with your nurse

hi, I had my BA last thursday and only came off the pill (microgynon too) 5 days before, only cos my surgeon recommended it but he also said that if i was adament that I wanted to stay on it then I could. Just cos of extra risks of clotting but I wouldn’t worry too much, you’ll be fine if you stay on it I’m sure.
