Moving arms after BA

How long is it before you can move your arms above your head etc after a ba? also how long was it until people could drive? It’s driving me mad not being able to do my own hair lol!

Hmm I could do my hair after about 3 days, took me about 10 to drive comfortably x

I’ve drove today after having mine last Wed just had to adjust seatbelt as was a little uncomfortable. Got post op tmo so hoping to get the all clear for a proper shower and to do my hair myself xxx

I drove after 9 days. Didn’t feel comfortable wearing a seat belt before then! My muscles felt tight when I changed gears aswel. Washed my hair over the bath 4 or 5 days post op but got my mum to do it before then

Thanks girls! I was just bothered about moving my arms above my head because I thought I wasn’t allowed to? lol I’ve got my post op appointment tomorrow too, hopefully will be able to shower properly after then!x

I think the driving is not just about the belt but if you think you could do an emergency stop without pain and also the airbag factor! I managed to wash and dry my hair after about 3 days, just took it really slow.

I drove after a week couldn’t get in 5th or reverse tho, but my friend who had a op a few days after me said that I wouldn’t be insured during the period my surgeon said NOT to drive, and it was in the aftercare paperwork so didn’t till 2 weeks then. I was abt 10 days when I comfortabley washed my own hair, I had been hair dresses tho a couple of times cos I would of killed my partner soaking me threw! How hard is it? Lol x x

Could do my hair at about 3-4 days an lift them fully all the way up around 10 days i think, but i still cant open the shutter at work yet at 4 weeks po cos i still cant stretch that far feels really tight!

It’s tricky to say, I thought I could move my arms about before my 1 week post op. But because of the numbness, I had been unknowingly pulling my incisions preventing then from closing up xx
