well i’m 4 days post op now, so thought i’d share my experiences with the rest of you girls!
bit of background….i had a ba 8yrs ago, but one ruptured about 6mths ago, so i had to have them re-done with a different surgeon. as i’m 42 now, my surgeon thought i would benefit from an uplift as well
so….anyway….i was picked up from my home at 3.30am on the mon morning, and got to birmingham at about 7.15. checked in at reception, and within 5mins i was being shown to my room. i was told i was either first or second on the list, and to have a quick shower, just to get rid of any perfumes, deodrants etc
then i got into my gown (yes…the god-awful ones that flap at the back lol!) and my paper knickers 😐
a couple of mins later the anaesthatist came to see me, to explain what he would be doing when i got down to theatre
then my surgeon came round about 10mins later to explain exactly what was going to be happening, and to draw on my boobs with a lovely green marker pen lol!!
i was having my old implants out (i’d been a 32DD with 395cc), and any loose silicone that might have escaped, and he was doing the uplift, and putting 460cc in as partial unders
so then before i knew i, a lovely nurse came to walk me down to theatre……
i know i felt nervous, but they were all so fantastic and reassuring….it was lovely
the anaesthatist put the canula into the back of my hand, injected the syringe of antibiotics (and no….it honestly didnt hurt….just a small scratch on the back of my hand, then the antibiotic just felt really cold going into me)
i’d asked him to give me the milky stuff nice and slowly cos i dnt like to just going under in 3secs!! so he did….i remember chatting to him for a bout a min whilst i started to go woozy…..and then nothing,,,,,,till i woke up back in my room,in bed!!
when i woke up, i had a peek under my gown, and i think my first thought was disappointment….i’d expected them to look like honeydew watermelons lol!!!
when i came round properly the nurse helped me on with my sports bra…and i got into a 34F….so that cheered me up!! i usually wear a 32, but i had been advised to get a size bigger so it didnt cut into my wounds
then my wonderful surgeon came to see how i was…..he told me i’d been under just over 3hrs to let them get all the silicone out….apparently the bag had just disintegrated, and it was only my natural breast tissue that had been holding it in place
he said he’d had someone taking pics as he was doing the procedure, so i could see for myself, but i havent seen them yet
god…this is long winded isnt it lol!! sorry, but my experience was so brilliant, i just wanted to share it
anyway….i’m now 4days post op…..still really sore, and i cant use my arms much, but its the best thing i’ve done….so any of you girls out there who are nervous….don’t be…..it is SO SO worth it in the end!!
i’m having pics taken every couple of days of my boobies progress, so i’ll put em on sofem in a few wks, when you can see definite changes. i’m hoping they’ll fluff to at least a 32FF, as i’m sure that thats what i read usually happens to unders and partial unders….fingers crossed anyway
