My surgery was yesterday, I arrived at 7:30 and was taken up to my room, it was private, fairly spacious and had a TV and sink in the room, my gown, dressing gown, socks and slippers were on the bed, I did the pregnancy test and then got into them, then the nurse came in to do a medical assessment and also checked my weight and height. The anaesthetist came in later to talk to me, and then Marcellino came in later to talk me through the process and size and to make the pen marks.

My surgery was at 11:10, I was the second of the day. The anaesthetic kicked in soon after they put the thing (I’m really technical) into the vein in my hand, I went a bit dizzy and then was out. IT wasn’t like sleeping, for me it felt like I was waking three seconds after I was asleep, I was in a different room, once I had fully come round they took me… or technically rolled me on the bed down to my room and help me shift into the other bed, they made sure I was drinking a lot of water and there was a buzzer so they could help me up to get to the toilet, the pain was minimal at this point, it didn’t hurt for me so much, but just felt sore. I watched the TV and then napped. They got me some toast and jam and a cup of tea, which is normal for all day case patients, apparently it is usual for patients to leave around 4 hours after they wake, as long as they are drinking, eating and able to get up to the toilet, however Mr Marcellino likes to see his patients and check how they are doing after the surgery. A nurse also popped in to give me the pain killers and antibiotics and talk you through them. So by 5:30 I was ready to go.

The most uncomfortable thing was the taxi back to where I was staying at my friends (who had chaperoned me for the day), who knew London had to many potholes!

So all in all, the day was so easy! Surprisingly easy, as I think I had been preparing myself for a traumatic life changing experience, and it is life changing, just not traumatic. The staff are great, friendly and chatty and really put you at ease. They do absolutely everything to make you feel comfortable and make sure your recovery is good and swift.

I will be uploading photos later, though you can’t see a great deal because of the strappings. Any questions, just ask.

@rubym. Hey I have just booked my surgery for January 11th, with Dr Marcellino. Do you have any before & after photos of your surgery?
I’m glad your day sounded so easy, im looking forward to it but still so nervous. Would you reccomend Marcellino? He was matched to me by my PC so I haven’t met him yet but I can’t seem to find any bad comments. Not many comments in general actually. Hope you are healing well x x x

I had my op yesterday with dr marcellino, our day was pretty much the same but they have me some muscle relaxers when I got back to the room as it was very tight, what size did you have? I had 300cc from a 34b under the muscle mod plus I think he has done a fab job but hard to see with strapping x

@binx99 Sorry took a while, take a look at the photos on my profile, there are a few photos of it. I would definitely recommend him! Hope all goes well!! x x

@mercedes-b Thats great! Congratulations! I hope you have a speedy recovery! I went with 325cc from 34B to 34E! (I was aiming for a DD). He definitely did a great job on me! I found that when I was recovering I got quite paranoid about having problems or them being wonky, and I occasionally still look in the mirror and panic a little, but so far so good! It helped me to remember that when you take a selfie one boob automatically looks bigger than the other. HAHA. Can’t wait to hear how your recovering. x
