    Hey girls,

I found reading about everybody’s experiences on here very helpful when I was preparing for my BA, so thought I would return the favour and tell my story.

I was admitted to Manchester Lifestyle Hospital at 7.30am yesterday morning to have 340cc overs with Mr Traynor. At 9.30am Mr T came to draw over me in permanent marker (which actually isn’t as hard to get off as I thought it would be!). He was closely followed by the anaesthetist (not the friendliest of guys, but obviously very knowledgable, and ex-army apparently!). The nurse then came by to take my obs and make sure I was ready for theatre.

I was taken down to theatre at 12pm, and was sooo hungry by then! The ODP lady was really nice to me whilst getting me ready to be put under as she could see how nervous I was, she even held my hand as I went to sleep. I then woke up in recovery at 1.20pm. I was shivering so they put a heated blanket on me, which was amazing! Then they wheeled me back to my room, and brought me some water. I was worried I’d feel sick afterwards but I didn’t, I was still just really hungry!! So they brought me tea and biscuits and as I was fine with those they then brought me my lunch.

Mr T came and saw me afterwards and was so sweet, he really is a lovely man. Then after the nurse checked me again I was discharged at 5pm. I went back to the apartment with my mum (Laystall Apartments in Manchester, I would highly reccommend these, there is loads of room and much comfier than a hotel, and the same price!) I even went to the supermarket with my mum to get some food for dinner!

I am now back home in Birmingham, feeling fine. I haven’t needed any painkillers and it just feels similar to overdoing it in the gym. I have been up and about and can do everything for myself without any problems. My PC has been in touch and so has the nurse, so the aftercare already seems very good.

So for those girls that haven’t had theirs yet, please don’t worry! Its not as bad as you think, and they really do take very good care of you.

Will put up some pics as soon as I get the chance!!

    Another reasurring story :-)

How did you get the permanent marker off? x

    Menu

I’m just wearing the Macom bra that my nurse told me to buy, with a back width of 34. I’m going to buy some new sports bras tomorrow, and think I will probably need 34D, maybe DD with the swelling. I was a 34A to begin with and asked to be a C/D so Mr T seems to have given me that!

As for the permanent marker, baby wipes work fairly well, then nail polish remover for the more stubborn bits! :D

awww congrats :-) and happy healing hun x

I’ll make sure i have some nail varnsih remover handy then! LoL

I hate the thought of being covered in all the yellow antiseptic stuff they put on you! How long have you got to wait to shower?

I’ve been told a week by my surgeon but i know all Dr’s are different x

I don’t have much iodine on me, most of it went on my arms (again, baby wipes work for this!). I was told to have shallow baths for the first week and could wash my hair over the side. Can’t get my dressing wet for a week. Will give the bath and hair washing a go tomorrow so wish me luck!!

    Good luck!

I’ve trained my bloke to wash and condition AND style and blow dry my hair! He’s a keeper! :-) x

Thought he should practice BEFORE my op!

Can I borrow him?!? Lol!! I’ve just started seeing a guy, but haven’t even told him I’ve had it done…. He thinks I’ve been in Manchester for work and now I’m “ill” (and will be for a few more days!) I’ll tell him eventually but it’s such early days….

Yay another reassuring story! Congrats on your new lady lumps! Mine and Jordie’s turn in less than 2 weeks! EEK! Happy healing hun and keep us updated with how you’re getting on! Think I need to get my guy to start practising washing my hair- however, the last time he did it he sprayed my whole face when the whole point in him doing it was coz Id already done makeup and put too much product in hair so had to start again!! xx

Ha ha ha ha @ Linzi!

I felt like i was talking to a child when i taught my bloke how to wash my hair! I gave him the incentive “Just think as soon as you do it and you do it right you can go back to playing on Call of Duty!” It worked! LoL

Devilishem, it will be a nice surprise for him! ;-)

Did you have overs or unders devilishem? Im a 34a and not sure what look more natural? & how much difference the pain is? What CCs did u have? Congrats by the way xx

    Menu

Thanks! I had 340cc overs. Mr T told me that he thinks overs look more natural as they sit where the breast tissue would naturally sit (if I had more that is!!!) However if you don’t have much breast tissue then I think unders will be necessary as overs would look really stuck on. I went in asking for unders but Mr T said he thought I would get a better result from overs so I went with his advice.

I haven’t really had any pain, haven’t touched the co-codamol they give you and haven’t even needed paracetamol. I think unders are meant to be a little more uncomfortable than overs though because they have to cut the muscle a little bit.

I would honestly listen to what your surgeon suggests as they really do know best!
