My best friend & I set off around 6:45 am yesterday morning, we walked to my local train station as its only down the road & only waited a few mins for our train, at this point I was sweating like a pig but felt ok just a little anxious, my bestie didn’t stop talking so I don’t think I got the chance to stress lol…
Train journey was ok until the train got very packed which done my head in as I’m clostraphobic so got even hotter!!
Got to Euston & sat in costa coffee so my friend could have a coffee & she teased me with my fave a chocolate twist lol.. We sat there for a while to kill a bit of time as we were fairly early so I called my mum & had a natter with her, think she was more nervous than me at this point..
We then set off on our 15 min walk to fitzroy square, don’t think we stopped talking the whole way! My best friend is great, she really kept my mind off of everything…
Finally found the hospital & Mr lush himself was standing outside admiring the trees… My friend was shocked at how fit he is lol & said he looked more like a footballer than a surgeon!! He said hello to me & I had a good old sniff of his yummy aftershave as I walked passed him & went all dreamy lol.. Booked in at reception & waited a few minutes & was then greeted by a lovely nurse ( forgotten her name) & was shown to my room, room A, was given my sexy knickers & gown & was told I was third on the list, so could get settled & changed etc.. Managed to squeeze out the tiniest pee ever (as id had about 30 pees already that morning!) for pregnancy test but said I was on my period anyway so I was defo not pregnant… (advice for girlies who are on when having Ba get some white cotton knickers & wear a sanitary towel & wear the paper knickers over the top)
Wasn’t long before another nurse came in & asked me all the nesseccaries & I signed all my paperwork, Mario came in took some pics drew on me & told me he was going to fit in the biggest implant he could as I had lots of room to fill… GULP!!
I felt ok at this point still not that nervous, tv wasn’t working in my room so the nurse said that another room would be ready by the time I would go down so she’d move me as the tv was ok in that room…
My friend & I sat reminiscing about how naughty we were when we were growing up so there was lots of laughter then the anaesthetist came in & my friend said I went as white as a ghost & my face froze & I looked really scared!! He was really nice & said I’d be going down soon.. My friend looked all worried & said I’d scared her lol… Two secs later at 10:20 lovely chatty nurse came & got me & we walked to the lift.. Started to feel really nervous, not about the op though just about being put out!!
Got to a small room hopped on the bed & the anaesthetist started talking away about what I did & asked about my children & we had a good natter about places to take small children as he lives fairly near to me, he’d done all the prep work on me & the other anaesthetist came in and joined in the conversation & suddenly said right now it’s time for you to have a well earned sleep & put the syringe in the cannula & that was it tingle in the back of my throat & I was gone…
Woke up at 11:40 to a sweet nurse calling me & telling me it’s time to wake up, at this point I think I just groaned in pain..I tried to have a peak but was still out of it a bit… She gave me some morphine & was chatting away to me, then she discovered that the saline had leaked all over me and the sheets & gown were wet so had to move me which bloody killed, so she topped me up with morphine as she could see I was in agony.. She gave me the maximum dose & said that I should be ok for a while, they left me in recovery a bit longer as i’d had so much morphine & wanted to make sure I was ok..
I was wheeled back to my room just before 1pm & my lovely friend was waiting there for me, she had a peak & was well impressed, spent most of the afternoon dozing on & off & chatting.. Had a great nurse called Clara she got me all comfy & kept popping in to do my obs, she got me up for a wee.. Felt very dizzy so took my time was very painful so clara then gave me a shot of tramadol in my butt.. Felt as high as a kite…
Finally fancied some food so they brought me everything I’d ordered & my friend & I had a good munch up, the ice cream was the best bit.. Had about 20 cups of tea throughout the afternoon & drank loads of water as I was so dehhydrated..
The aneasthatist came in to check I was ok & was very nice & told me to make sure I took my pills on time as this would help with the swelling & pain..
The nurse came in and discharged me at about 6:30 so I called my partner & said we were ready, so he was going to leave once he’d put the baby to bed, so I had an hour to slowly get up & get myself ready.. Brushed my teeth & freshened up, felt so much better then by the time everything was packed my lovely man was waiting outside for me..
I thanked everyone at the hospital, I really can’t fault anyone they were so kind & caring & a credit to the hospital… Only downer was that mario didn’t come & check on me which I felt was pretty bad but hey Ho…
Journey home was ok, got in gave my kids a big kiss & had a lovely cuppa took my pills & got settled in bed, set my alarm & we sorted the pills out I needed to take during the night put them in a pot next to my bed & off I went..
Took my pills during the night & went back to sleep…
Woke up this morning very sore & stiff, my ribs are killing me & look very bruised…
So that’s it my boobie journey is now complete, I’ve wanted this for ten years & can now finally say I’m in the boobie club!!
