I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the lovely girls who uploaded their stories on the forum and gave me all the advice i needed, it was such a huge help and is always nice to hear different peoples opinions and experiences.
So here’s my story.
My Op date was Wednesday 4th on Jan
Admission time 7.30am
Highgate Hospital
Dr Adamo
I stayed overnight in a Holiday Inn express about 5 mins away from the Highgate hospital so I didn’t have to panic the morning of my op, I was the first patient to arrive at the hospital and easily got a car parking space.
I filled out a few forms at reception and was then taken to my room, I got myself comfy and tried to take my mind off of how hungry i was, so turned on the tv to be greeted by the news once again of the PIP implants (which made me feel sick as I had been avoiding listening to anything on this subject).
Shortly after a nurse came in and went over my medical history etc she then informed me that another nurse will be in soon to give me a briefing on the day.
Before the second nurse had a chance to come and see me, Dr Adamo knocked on my door, he came in and did his drawings and took the relevant photos and told me to get changed into my gown, he was very calm and as he left he said that he would see me in approx an hour and a half as he had one patient before me.
5mins after this another nurse rushed into my room in a panic saying i needed to hurry up and come with her (they didn’t realize the second nurse hadn’t come in and seem me yet) so i was rushed into the corridor, weighed, measured and then rushed back into my room to do the pregnancy test. She then gave me the sexy stockings, the paper knickers and all my wrist tags.
When she left I started to relax and read a magazine as I was expecting to wait an hour or so as Dr Adamo had said, however a third nurse came into my room and said that the theatre was ready for me and I was now Dr Adamo’s first patient.
I felt fine, i think this was partly due to being unexpectedly taken through it caught me off guard a little, but luckily didnt give me time to worry.
There were 6 people in the theatre room inc Dr Adamo (one of his assistants was gorgeous….brilliant when your looking rough) next thing i remember i was breathing in gas and air and i was gone…
I woke up crying at 10.30 in the recovery room, i always cry when I’ve been put under anesthetic for some reason, I remember talking about all sorts of rubbish to the nurse who was in the room with me. The staff them wheeled me back into my room where my mum and bf were waiting, when i saw them i cried even more.
As soon as i came round properly i had a cheeky look under my gown, Dr Adamo doesn’t bandage up so i got to see my new additions straight away!!
I ate at 1.30, and was up walking about by 2.30 (had a catch up and compare with missym83 after her surgery about 4.30)
I was discharged at 5.15 feeling absolutely fine.
First night: I slept 4 hours at a time (no bra)a little bit of discomfort
Day 1 PO:(no bra)rested and felt slightly stiff but had bf at home to help
2nd night: slept all the way through, woke up lying flat but felt ok, left incision slight sore i assume from stretching in my sleep
Day 2 PO:bf back to work, at home on my own. Up and about in royce bra, shallow bath and shopping with my mum. Boobs are feeling numb, no bruising at all.
I hope this helps a little and puts some minds at rest, I’ve had no pain at all just a very tight feeling over my chest. I couldn’t be happier with the finished results they are already looking great and have exceeded all my expectations.
