Yesterday I had a BA 340s overs with Mr Adamo at Highgate Hospital. On Tuesday evening I read some bad reviews about Highgate which left me feeling a bit anxious.
However I am pleased to report that my experience was a good one.
I arrived at 2pm & was settled into my room by 2.15. The Nurse & Anaesthetist appeared soon after. The charming Mr Adamo arrived with pen & camera in hand. We went over what we had discussed in my consultation a month or so earlier. He then took the dreaded before pictures and covered my chest in pen marks. He was then able to show me where everything would end up, which put my mind at ease. More pictures & he informed me it would be about an hour wait.
I was walked down to the anasthetic room where Mr Adamo joined me as they knocked me out, last look at the clock 3.35pm.
I’m not sure how long I was in recovery but I got back to my room at 6.45. No drains. No big bandages just dressings around my nipples and a pair of rather pert bosoms O & a big smile.
I had Tea & Toast followed by a curry(my choice)later on. I was given meds about 10.00. Sleep was hit & miss but I didn’t expect it to be a good one. I would suggest taking a V pillow with you as sleeping upright with no head support is difficult.
Breakfast arrived at 7am. More Meds. Mr Adamo came to see me & check on his handy work, before announcing me fit to leave when my husband arrived.
Getting dressed took it out of me a bit & made me feel for the first time quite unwell. I left my husband to get my medication from the pharmacy while I sat outside. The fresh air picked me up & we were on our way by 10am.
I had no grumpy or offish Nurses, I made sure that I enagaed in converstion with them and they made me feel relaxed. If you ask you will get.
It is now coming up to 3pm & apart from feeling tired & a little sore I feel great.
Big Thank you to MYA & Highgate.
Hi Hun, where did you husband stay the night?, glad you enjoyed the experience as i have mine in 3 wks time
xx
Sorry can’t be much help as we live a short train journey away from Highgate, so he caught the train up with me yesterday, then made the most of my absence & caught up with a mate in London for a few beers before returning home. He came back for me this morning in the car.
Hope things go well for you.
thank you, who did you have and what size did you go for, if you dont mind me asking
xx
Well done booblidoos! I am getting quite excited for my one now, it is on Wednesday… When did you hear about your admission time?
Alicat01, there was some debate as to what size my chest was. My boobs were all skin & certainly didn’t look like an E cup but when scooped up they would only fit into sometimes a DD but mostly an E. I have had 340s and am hoping that I will still be an E but a fuller shape. Post op bra is an F so once all the swelling has gone down I should be on track.
I had Dr Adamo who was an absolute gent.
Hi Keepmesweet, I didn’t get my admission time until the Thursday before. So I guess you should have heard by now.
boobiedoos- I finally got a call from my lovely nurse Judy and she told me it is a 9:30 admission on the 11th of Aug and reminded of the 6 hours no foor and 2 hours before no more sips of water either… I am getting soooo excited now. Sending my kids to my friends in Birmingham until Friday.
Dad came from Philippines and decided to stay with me yesterday… Gosh… I don’t know what to tell him when I get back from the hospital 😳
I doubt it if I can keep it a secret because I am a very active person! Arggghhhhh
