Hi girls, so I thought I’d share my experience with you all.

I had my surgery yesterday 29/06/15 in First Trust, Preston. My admission time was 12 but I got there at 11.40 and was shown straight to my room. Very basic room but I was nice and big, a little cold though!! I was so nervous but as soon as I spoke to Mr Mounir I was completely put at ease! I also asked the anesatist if I could have gas to put me to sleep as I’m terrified of needles and that wasn’t a problem 🙂
I got taken down to theatre at about 2.45pm. Had a little cry before I was put to sleep but before I knew it I was back in my room asking if I was okay. I had a bit of pain and tightness and when I stood up I was really dizzy! Had some tea and toast and was told I could go home about an hour later. I had a sneaky look before I got dressed and fell in love straight away!!

I was sick twice in the night but slept quite well. When I woke up I was in so much pain! But the pain killers worked almost straight away. I’ve just been sick again this morning but better now. I’m able to move around a little bit can’t really move my arms much.

Altogether the whole experience wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and was the best thing I’ve ever done!! Can’t wait until they drop so I can see what they look like ! Good luck to all you pre-op girls, trust me it’s not as bad as you think it will be and that’s coming from someone who is a big wimp hehe xxx

They look fab! @lizzie I’m at the same hospital with mr mounir on the 30th July. Made up about you saying you can have gas as the needle is the only thing I’m scared about! Did you not have to have anything in your hand at all? Xxx

Thanks girls! Emma Mr Mounir is so lovely I was made up I had him as my surgeon. The only thing I had in my hand was the cannula which they put in after I was asleep, unfortunately they HAVE to use this incase of any problems! But by the time I woke up and saw it in my hand I didn’t really care because I was so out of it and over whelmed haha… And trust me I am a big baby when it comes to needles so honestly you’ll be fine! Good luck! Xx
