My MYA Story – 300CC Overs – Mr Adamo

It’s gonna be a long one!

I’m finally in the Boobie Club!

I never thought this day would arrive after two years of contemplating over a BA!!!

I’ll give you my stats first.

5’4″

10stone

size 10

Post Op Bra Size – 34B / 36AA

The first time I ever went into MYA was Oct 2009 and met with my patient coordinator Nadja Collins who talked me through what I wanted to achieve and showed me pics of some before and afters. Once I’d seen Nadja I then waited to see Mr Adamo… who really is such a gentle man! He asked me what I wanted to achieve… BIGGER BOOBS!!! Showed me a picture on the wall and asked me if I would like results the same as the lady in the pic… YES PLEASE!!! He then measured my boobs and said that I had enough tissue for the implants to be placed over the muscle and he thought that 300cc would be a good size for me and should bring me to a C cup… but gave me the option of 340cc too which could bring me to a full C or a D… those 340s came with a ‘but’, if I did have the 340s I would have to be careful not to lose weight otherwise they could look fake and rippling might be apparent… I tried both implants on in my bra… I can’t remember what I thought then as it was so long ago but I always new that if I had a boob job it wasn’t because I wanted BIIIIG boobs but just wanted to fill out what I already have, have a bit of cleavage and be able to wear the clothes I want to…. I went back to Nadja and told her what Mr A had offered me… there wasn’t much difference in size between the two implants…

When I got home I googled the implant sizes and came across a few forums where I was able to talk to other girls going through the same dilemmas and more often than not most people had wished they’d gone bigger or had gone bigger… it really helped to have a look at peoples pictures and their results… and find out if they were happy with their sizes…

Anyway, due to financial constraints I had to put the idea of the BA out of mind for a while and then this year, after taking a holiday in January I came back thinking – I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS NOW! I got back in touch with Nadja and went in to see her… all my notes were still there… I had a quick visit with Mr A… when I had been to see him in 2009 I was 1 stone lighter (9ST) but have since put on weight… Mr Adamo said 340s would be fine on me and I would be able to lose some weight without them looking dodgy… I tried the implants on again and the 300s looked just right while the 340s looked a bit ‘out there’ … Mr A said he would bring both on the day…. GREAT… it gave me a little more time to contemplate… I am probably one of the worst people to give a choice to!

The deposit was paid the next day and my date of 30th March was confirmed… from here on I was a complete and utter BOOBIE FANATIC! I was on the forums religiously talking to other girls who were going through the same thing or had had the 300s or 340s put in… and looking at before and after pics on the net… and I learnt something… EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT… even two people with the same stats could have the same implant and have different results because maybe their boobs post-op were different or one had more tissue than the other or wider breast width… I knew that Mr A would not have offered me either size if he didn’t think they would be right for my frame… so I decided (80%) that I was going to stick to the 300s because I know that once I’m healed I’ll be in the gym working to get back to my previous weight.

I was really lucky because on one of the forums, I met Channy and Shazzy who were also have their BA’s at Highgate on the same day as me… as well as my PC Nadja.

We exchanged numbers and kept in touch through the days running up to the BA… it was such a comfort having other people going through the same thing…

Did anybody have boobie dreams before the big day?

I didn’t but I think my bf did as he was groping for a slightly bigger boob than my originals the other night – patience mate! haha!

It took me about two hours to fall asleep the night before because I kept think about the op… thinking about incisions etc etc and freaking myself out.

Nadja text me to wish me the best and send me a little promise that everything would be fine…

I managed to fall asleep (finally) and then kept waking up because I was scared of not waking up to my alarm!

SO – I arrived at Highgate Hospital half an hour early (talk about eager)… the hospital is in such a nice area and the walk from the underground station isn’t too bad (I only had to travel two stops)… filled in the forms and waited to be given my room number.

Channy and Shazzy were already ‘checked in’ and had text me with their room numbers.

At 08:30 I got shown up to my room, shown the tea and coffee making facilities etc…

10 minutes later the pre-op nurse came in to give me my name band, sexy socks and sexy surgery knickers… those things look like a flimsy version of incontinence nappies – had fun taking pictures of myself in that and sending it to my mates… then I occupied myself by setting up my room with snacks I had bought myself for later…

Mr Adamo was in surgery with his first patient (Nadja) and the nurse told me he would be up to see me once he was done….

Mr Adamo came through with the anaethesist (can’t spell it!) at about 10:30… she ran through the questions about allergies and told me the procedures etc and then asked me to do a pregnancy test… I had a quick chat with Mr Adamo… told him I felt comfortable going with 300s… showed him a pic of some boobies that I would be happy with he said that the 300s should be fine…. GREAT STUFF 300s it is! He took some pics and then drew on me… He said I’d be good to go in an hour and waved goodbye… GOSH that soon!

I went round to see Channyfro but the nurse told me she had just taken her down… so wished her well in my thoughts…

My mum then arrived to see me so I showed her the artwork on my chest and she insisted on taking more photos…! Erm… hopefully not for the family album!

Time then went sooooo quickly… I was teaching my mum (newbie Facebook addict) how to read and reply to her messages and then the nurse came in to say that she was taking me down to theatre!!!!! Omigosh that meant that Channy was done and It was 12pm…. my heart was racing!

Trotted on down to the prep room in my gown and uggs (what a good look!)… got to the prep room and the nurse told me I would be going straight into the operating room… WHY???? What a freak out…. everybody in there was kitted out in their surgery gear and seeing that made me, for the first time, REALLY question whether I wanted to be there or not… I lay down on the operating bed sick with worry while the nurse put the monitoring stickers on my back and taped my arm to the table beside me… Mr Adamo came in and asked if I was ready… a very tiny ‘yes’ squeal type noise came out of my mouth and he laughed saying that my face didn’t match my answer haha….

Then the anaethesist came along talking to me about work I do to occupy my mind… NOT WORKING LUVVIE… I know what’s coming LOL! – I hate needles… very soon I started to feel like I had drank 5 bottles of wine… I played a little game with myself to see how long I could hold out for, she then put the mask over my face and I was ‘lights out’….

What seemed like 2 seconds later, a nurse was waking me up and offered me a sip of water… first thing I did was pull up my top to check out the new assets and they kind of looked like this ( \_/ ) when i looked down at them… hmmmm is that right?

so i’m having a lovely conversation with the recovery nurse and the porter comes along and starts pulling my bed to wheel me back to my room and the nurse starts having a go at him for interrupting our conversation and they start having it out with each other DRAMAS!

When I arrived back in my room its 13:30 I really wanted to get up and have a look in the mirror but I was sooooo drowsy and spent pretty much all day feeling like this…. I had some water… REFRESHINGGGGGG… and ordered some tea and toast… (they don’t give you a full lunch straight away in case you can’t stomach it after the GA)…. mmmmmmmmmmmmm tea and toast was goooood!

Once I could hold myself up (the nurse had to help me to the loo the first time) I went round to see Shazzy and Channy to compare boobies… well… Shazzy was dressed and ready to go home haha and Channy was pretty much the same as me… still in the surgical gown … we went across the hall to see Nadja who looked like she hadn’t been in surgery at all!

Once I was able to get up and walk about (still dizzy mind you) I was checking myself out in the mirror every 10 minutes… at the mo ooking down at them they look very weird… a bit like bullets… pointy looking and don’t look very round at all… (don’t think I like that very much)… in the mirror looking at them from the front they look very round (which I do like) – and from the side they look BIG but very high on top and not filled out at the bottom with the nipples pointing slightly downwards… I had overs and I quite like the size that they are now… I know that they are still swollen but does anyone think they will get smaller by alot? I don’t want them too… I just want them to change shape…

Went back to Channy’s room to show her my boobs again haha… ask her opinion then spent the rest of the day falling in and out of sleep… I tried to eat a banana but felt a bit sick half way through…. ordered my 3 course dinner at 5pm… was yum!

Got myself refreshed and changed at about 6:30pm… the nurse, Mr Adamo and the anaethesist all came in at about 7:45pm to give me my tablets and poke my boobs… I packed up and took the twins to their new home!

I am really happy with the size and glad I chose them… I just cant wait for them to look a bit more normal…!

All the best to everyone who is due to have their BA soon… and for anybody going to Highgate… you will be in such good hands… every member of the team were really nice, friendly, helpful and really helped me feel comfortable and at ease…

I’d love to hear back from anybody that has any pointers or tips on the healing stage…

I must say that having my boobie buddies and Nadja has been so great, we’ve all been in touch daily to see how we are all progressing and today I have managed to reschedule my post-op appointment next week so that I can be in on the same day as my boobie buddies for a catch up!

Lovely story Shell, im just sorry i did not get to spend more time with u and compare boobies. I really dont like hospitals. so as soon as i could stand i wanted out.lol. I left at 4pm. but felt drowsy, light headed all evening, i managed to stay awake till 930pm.!!! impressive hey?. lol

really looking forward to our catch up on Wednesday. my app is 1230pm. Where are you traveling from?. im going from ipswich to liverpool street to holburn..chore.!

Sorry for rambling on but I really wanted to give as much detail about my journey as I could… AND I LOVE TALKING!

I can’t wait to see the end result… I’ve gone the last few days without a bra – but only because my Macom got lost in the post(!) it should be here by tomorrow says Royal Mail and I just hope these boobies will budge from their pointy outwards position and actually move to get in the bra… they’re really stiff! LOL

@summerandbubs and @chichi2 – how exciting for you… aaaahhhh I remember counting down the days… you wait ages and then all of a sudden it comes around so quickly! Are you on any other forums? I managed to find Channy and Shazzy on SoFem…

@shazzy692002 – I’m travelling down from Ealing so just a quick tube trip down to Holborn… my appointment’s at 11 on Wednesday… how’s day 3 gone for you? I’ve been so bloated and my stomach’s so round haha… drank 2 Yakults….. and they’ve seemed to do the trick

Thanks for the lovely story. I am going to highate on the 19th April & like you dont want to go big like you I was really conflicted whether I go for the 300’s or 340’s. I like the fact that you are happy with the 300’s which I am now going to stick to as like you I am having overs and I want to lose a little weight.. our stats are pretty much the same..

Shell, its just been to easy, keep waiting for the hard bit, but not come yet.! i have managed to do washing, cooking, shoping with hubby, but i am also taking it easy, im sleeping more than normal, had 1/2 hour yestarday pm, then fell asleep ay 830pm. just got up at 7am.lol. am also sleeping on my back, have no problem getting up. Mr singh is god to do this to me and i feel nothing. lol. i have to pinch myself to say “hey u have had a boob job” lol. Im off to watch my son play football soon, then will rest this pm.
