My scar looks awful :(

Hi Girls,

I am gutted with my right scar, I picked the surgeon I went with because all the scars I saw looked so neat and small from him. I am 2 weeks post op and my right scar looks horrible – I don’t know how to describe it and annoyingly I can’t upload a photo it really sticks out, theres a big dent in after my implant then the inscision is really raised, really disgusting but my bf said it almost looks like the lips of a vagina…exactly what I want at the bottom of my boob!! I have put more steri strips over it, I can’t bear to look at it Did anyone elses look like this? Will it go down? I am so scared that I will end up with it looking like that forever x

Your only two weeks post op, and there’s so much changing left to do, don’t worry. At six weeks you can start using scar treatments xx

I remember thinking something similar at 2 weeks, they were really risen and ugly but now they are really smooth and neat, its amazing how the body heals. just give it some time and hopefully yours will smooth out too. x

I feel a bit more reassured that yours were raised Jo and now they are smooth, I know I have a lot of healing to do as 2 weeks is extremely early but I expected my scar to maybe look a bit raised and red at this early stage but my right one looks like the stiches inside are too tight? I wish I could put a pic up would really help to hear peoples thoughts xx

DOn’t worry hun, it will be fine and flat once all the swelling is gone and the healing is complete. I’ve seen lots of girls with what you describe early on but by 8 weeks, everything settled nicely. Best wishes, K.

Hey Hun, mine looked really bad and I was that worried I made an appointment to see my surgeon when I was about 3wks po, the appointment was for when I was 7wks po and by that time my scar had flattened n looked loads better. I don’t av any pics on here but if u want me to email u a couple to put ur mind at rest just pm me x

pics of my scars at 11 days p.o they look they were done weeks apart. will add you so you can take a look. am now 4 weeks and will add some more later. im only brave enough to look at my scars through the camera 😯 but i have every confidence they will be just fine xx

Hi cat, thanks for the request, the scars look good to me, I know that it’s hard to see over a picture though. My right one is not too red but looks like someone has pinched either side of the scar. I really don’t want to end up with it forever, iv emailed the nurse a picture so hopefully she will get back to me. Thanks for the comments girls, just getting a bit down maybe delayed boobie blues, thought the pain would’ve gone by now xx

hey toni, i have photos of my scars from mr adamo (we’re already friends on here) so feel free to compare. i’m sure it’s just swelling though babe, he’s a great surgeon x

Hey seesaw I was hoping my scars would look like yours they look great, and all the pics iv seen of his scars are brilliant but my right one is just awful. I have seen scars that are raised and have gone down so I’m trying not to freak out. But after seeing all his good results I was just very surprised to see my scar looking the way of did xx

Hi Cherry, my surgeon was Mr Adamo. I havent seen any bad scars from him but my right is not looking great, although in a week it has gone down slightly so im really hoping that I am just being impatient. I am only 3 weeks post op so need to remember its early days. Have you been to see a surgeon? x

of course they’ll go down you have to be patient also touching it alot will make it worse, just chill out ad forget about it
