Overnight case
So, a driver picked me up at 8.45am & we arrived at Kings Park in Stirling an hour later. I was given a form with my details on it and was to sign if correct, to find out the had me as a roman catholic, widowed and living somewhere i had never heard of was a bit of a shock – so i corrected this and was shown to my room by a nurse.
The room was comfy, had a banger of a tele though, a small box one lol, I was weighed, and questions and was given socks and a gown to put on. This was at 10am and surgery wasnt till 5pm – I was then asked to pee in a cup!
After a couple of hours waiting on an empty stomach, Mr.Kuna(Transform) came to see me and he drew on me at about 11 which i thought was very early, when he left he said ‘see you in 3 hours’! So my op had been moved from 5pm to 2pm.
So I read my book, texted one of the lovely girls that i met on here cos she was having the surgery just half an hour before me and chilled, when i got a text saying that she was away down for surgery i started to panick a bit just knowing it was less than half an hour until it was my turn!
The anethatist had came in to see me and told me that i was too young to be gassed
i hate needles and started to panick a bit more. The nurse put numbing cream on my hand which tbh didnt make a difference!
It was my turn now! The nurse came in and walked me down to theatre… All my panicking had gone, i felt care free and a bit excited.
First we walked through double doors and it was a big white room, i got my temperature taken and the nurses were very chatty, Mr Kuna walked past and waved, i was then lead into a small room with loads of machines and something that looking like a kitchen counter(the room was tiny)! there was a metal bed with sheets on it and the nurse asked me to lie down on it. This didnt feel real, almost like a dream! The bed was wonkey and shaked a bit when i got on it.
Knowing that i was scared of needles, one nurse stood by my side and the anethatist kneeled on the floor and lowerd my hand beneith the bed and put the canula in(did feel a nip but nothing else
such a relief!!!
I started to feel drunk and tired… a nice feeling haha, and i remember actually telling them that i loved the feeling how embarrasing! Thats all i remember.
I woke up a couple hours later in my room not able to move that much, but remember shouting hi to everyone that walked past my room… my door had been left open!
Every 4 hours the nurses gave me a cocktail of drugs, they also came in and gave me toast and tea, then my roast ham sandwhich and more. They couldnt have done enough for me, they were so nice and always checking on me even at 1 and 5 oclock in the morning. mr.kuna came in the next day and checked on me everything was fine and then said bye. My driver came to pick me up and went straight home at 10am.
Not going to lie, the healing process was a nightmare. The next 5 days were a nightmare, could barely sleep, my shoulders, arms, back and boobs were all in agony. I still feel a bit sick and really bloated and yesterday i found it hard and painful to breathe but feeling a bit better today.
I am currently taking 2 paracetamol and 1 tramadol every 4 hours and an anti-biotic twice a day!
Glad ur feeling better today Hun
so pleased we had ours on the same day! Xxx
Happy healing girls,xxxx
